I could see Florida's AD not doing that, even though his offense would be deadly if he got to recruit to Florida.

I'm assuming Tennessee is hoping that Dooley can make it another year and a half so it will be easier for them to hire Petrino.

Petrino might be still be damaged goods & have to do what Mike Price did and go to a C-USA school if he wants to continue coaching.

Edit to add: Now if you were hiring an offensive coordinator, that might be a different story.

but he's a compuslive liar. I'm not sure if I were an AD I'd want to wonder what he's doing or if he's telling the truth.

Hud would be my pick, then Wilson.

and can you imagine if you could get petrino and a great d-coordinator like wilson or diaz?

Defenses under petrino have never been that great but they score a lot of points.

Seriously... depending on their success over the next 2 years, I'd probably lean toward hiring Hud #1, Diaz #2, Wilson #3, and would not hire Petrino.

I love me some Coach Wilson but feel like he's one of those guys that just meant to be a great defensive coordinator. He might fit better as a head coach in the Big 10. SEC coaches have to have that something extra that appeals to & energizes the fanbase... not just the players.

He has an understanding of the front 7 that is a difference.

Diaz is a heck of a guy but has to prove his worth

Petrino has only less issues than Sandusky

Hud would win, but not to the future extent that Wilson would. Hud is in a place he will thrive.

Petrino is pretty toxic atm, and probably still will be. He's going to have to work his way back up the ranks to get to an SEC school,
and that's more than 2 years away.

It would be too easy to recruit against him: See Louisville, See Atlanta, See Arkansas. That doesn't make Mamma happy.
And yes, he improved Arkansas, but has 0 championships, and also lost to ohio state :)

Diaz is fluff. I live in Austin and folks are swooning over him atm. He has benefitted from media pub, being a decent coordinator,
and not being anywhere more than a season. Also. please look at the "5 star" laden UTexas defense that gave up a **** ton of points to:
Oklahoma, Baylor, et. al.

Hud -- who is he? (yes I know who he is, but where he is makes him irrelevant)

Wilson, has improved a defense and recruited well. He is an official Coordinator. He now has ties in both the big-whatever
and the SEC. Has playing experience @ Oklahoma. And had more first rount draft picks last year than Diaz :) Let that
sink in for a moment. Texas is perennially over-hyped, and even with that, the Diaz defense wasn't enough to get someone into the
first round.

(It may have been because of the longhorn network.. which no one has)

:)

He's the best technician, but he is a bad person and a cancer for the university.

Good DC's are not defacto good HC's. I'd give Wilson and Diaz a look to see if they could make the jump to HC.

But right now I'm leaning to Hud.
