by courting Missouri and pairing that with an ACC team? The St. Louis market would be nice and it would ruffle some feathers...a nice little "know your role, don't 17 with us" type message.

Probably a long shot. I don't even know if Missouri would be greatly missed by the Big 12, but geographically and politically, it's probably the easiest target that would add value to the SEC. Pair that with VA Tech and you get a decent increase in TV market share.

(Just my added for outlandish scenario to go on top of this last week's BS)

Do not expect any Big12 teams to be jumping any ship...
I think the SEC will stay as is now that there is no immanent danger of a mega conference happening.

Cause the boat the SEC is in is the biggest damn boat in the country. There's a reason we didn't start any of this and were only going to react to what other conferences might do. If the Big 12 does stay together, the SEC is still king. And if the situation changes in a few years, the SEC can poach the best schools from other conferences and still be the king if they need to.

I was always of the opinion that we should have never let those hillbillies in the SEC. I didn't have a problem with SC when the conference expanded, but 17 Arkansas.

ESPN has demonstrated they are willing to pay SEC level money to the B12r (remnants), so you can guarantee that moneyin the SEC. Slive should make a hard push at TAM, OU, OSU, and Mizzou. Tell Texass "you're in as an equal partner" and we'll punt Mizzou. You're out, then happy trails in the Pac. </p>

I dont think anyone from The Commissioner of the Big 12, Beebe, to the Pac 10 head..Scott...down to the president of Texas
knew from the beginning what was going to happen. Every day was a new turn all started by the Big 10 talking of expansion months ago.

First off...we are not going to be the ones to start the power conference shift....plus if it was going to happen it would have to happen now as the new Big 12-2 tv agreement is being said to end language in it that will make it very hard for members to leave anytime soon.

Second, OU, OSU are attached to the hip with Texas and are going nowhere without them. Texas has no intention of joining the SEC where they will not get a bigger pay day and dominate the power.
