If I'm thinking from the Panthers point of view, I go defensewith Petersonno question. They won't compete for another 3 years in that division, and they are going to screw themselves if they draft like they can compete next year and go with Cam. Drafting Cam is a big mistake because they don't have any other parts. They need a lot, and a QB like Cam, even though he can run, is not going to change things for them because they will still be in the bottom of the NFC South with Cam. They need to try and build a solid defense this year with Rivera as the headcoach, let Clausen try his hand this year, and if it fails, go after Luck or another QB next year.

Drafting Peterson gives them a shut down corner and a skilled return guy. A return guy like that takes a littlepressure off the offense, and that's what they need to give Clausen a chance to succeed and score points. Draft Peterson, trade up and get a WR in the 2nd round, grab an LB and some OL, and go home with a solid draft. I also think Dareus and Fairley are a little too risky at number 1. Only players I would take at 1 are Peterson and Von Miller.

They are solid on the OL, have the best running attack in the league when healthy and really have weaknesses at DT, QB, one CB and Right OG. There are no QBs for the #1 pick, and with two picks in the ninetys, they can get two DLs in a deep line draft. Take the best playmaker and see if Clausen can play at all.

Nick Fairly,assuming a 1st roundQB isn't available, and as always, could use a 1st round-type receiver.

The Titans have needs all over the place on D. A space-eater likeFairlyin the middle could coverweaknesses inour D from theEnds to the Safeties. The Titans have a pro-bowler or bust history in the 1st round, and I'm more anxious over the later rounds.

You can't sink the #1 overall pick on a corner. I agree he might be the best player in the draft, but his position just doesn't have enough value to take 1 overall. If you're going to draft Defense it needs to be Marcell Dareus.

Also, they were last in the league last year in points. They need offensive help. If I was the Panter's GM I would be tempted to go with AJ Green #1 and take Mallet in the 2nd or trade down. I don't think trading down is going to be an option though. I actually think that might be why they've been open about taking Cam #1 overall, because they want one of those teams in the 3-6 spot to fall in love with Newton and trade spots with them.

That said I think it's Cam Newton or Dareus, with an outside shot at AJ Green.

That adds a little more than your usual corner because most of the highly drafted corners can't return the ball. I don't mind an arguement for AJ Green, but I still think dominant corners are a lot harder to find while a really good WR can be found in every draft. They just have so many holes. That's why I think Cam is a bad choice. He doesn't fix your problems,he temporarilycovers them up until NFL DC's figure him out,and you still have a problem. You can do that in college, but in the NFL you can't have one man covering up your problems because guys are too big and too fast.

When you suck as bad as Carolina does, you need a gamechanger. I only see 2 guys in this draft that are instant gamechangers in positions of need, and that's Peterson and Green. Those are the only 2 guys I think they should look at. They will probably go Cam Newton, and I think it's a mistake since they have a QB that hasn't really had a shot and the fact they have a ton of other need areas.

I take Cam Newton and sell him to my fans to put butts in the seats and dollars in the bank. I start him from day one and try to max his potential and hope he produces. I trade Clausen for more picks. It's about making money and using that money to get more players. Pat Peterson isn't bringing you money that you can spend on getting better players. Cam Newton is the best option imo. I would try to raise lots of money to increase my payroll so I can buy free agents at all my holes while I draft backups for those same spots. Cam gives you the opportunity to raise that money.

So I don't know every team's specific needs very well, but Patrick Peterson is the best NFL prospect available. That guy is an incredible athlete. If i were asked to pick the best player in the draft, it would be him. However, different teams have needs to meet, so he probably won't be number one.

So you would draft Newton strictly to put butts in the seats, and you would start him no matter whether he was ready or not? Do you realize that if Newton sucks *** the fans won't give a 17 that he was the first overall pick? That may work for a year, but people aren't going to pay to watch some overrated prima donna throw 13 picks game. Newton may turn out to be the best QB ever, but you don't draft someone strictly to put butts in the seats, and you don't start someone who isn't ready just because he was the #1 pick.

Every teams wants to "raise lots of money." Every NFL franchise is a business. They want to make a profit. And no team will ever fill every hole through free agency while drafting players to be backups. That is equally as 17ing retarded. You have to draft some guys that will start for you. A lot of franchise players play for the team that drafted them.

You draft players that play a position of need on your team or that are so good that you can't pass them up. You don't draft someone just because you want to "raise more money." Newton will probably go #1 overall, but it will be because the Panthers need a QB, not because they want to raise some money. The Panthers are a small market team. They will never have as much money as a lot of other teams.

If you are a student at State, I hope you aren't a business major.

the nfl needs a rookie salary cap (which is as good as done if they make a deal). Neither Newton nor Gabbert are top five material. I would look for the Washington qb, Mallet, or the Nevada qb much lower. I would go w/ Darius and then Peterson. Either Green or Jones would be fine too. If you are Carolina, you hope to get more picks for their no. 1, but I doubt there will be takers. There is good value to be had in the lower first and second rounds and the Patriots are sitting pretty w/ a lot of picks.

Did I 17 your sister? With $ Carolina can sign a proven free agent qb. What's retarded about that?

You are advocating spending millions of dollars and the #1 overall pick on a guy strictly so that you can "raise some money" and sign a proven free agent QB. That makes absolutely no sense. First of all, there aren't a ton of proven QBs that are available to sign, especially for a small-market team like Carolina. Good QBs rarely become free agents. They either play for the team that drafted them or they are traded due to their value.

Like I said earlier, fans want to see a winner. If you draft Newton and start him immediately and he fails to win games, then you have a **** ton of money invested in a guy who may turn out to be a bust. When it really comes down to it, the average fan couldn't care less who the starting QB is just so long as he wins games. Drafting someone strictly to out asses in the seats in a terrible 17ing idea. And besides, if he doesn't win, then there want be any asses in the seats. You don't draft a QB or any player #1 overall and plan on replacing him in the near future. That kind of move will get a GM fired.

You're and idiot. End of story.

and that's all you need to say. Calling me an idiot 15 times doesn't make me agree with your thinking. The idea is to stop being a ****** football team. You like the slow methodical climb. I like the aggressive risk taking strategy. Kinda of like how you like to slow play the girl while I'm busy banging her the whole time. ***.
