How much buyout $ is Nebraska paying all their former coaches? If that # wasn’t so high, I assume Rhule would be bought out too? However, with a reported $50 million buyout fur Rhule…Nebraska is kind of “stuck in a rut”. That’s sad.You fired your basketball coach for not winning, right? And he actually won a Big Ten Tourney title.
Yet, you don't have high expectations for FB?
Wishing you a good few weeks of practice before Vandy boat races you in FL. Jeez 8-4, with that much NFL talent. Can’t beat a top 25 team. Hope it brought some sunshine to your day to come up and beat up on a mediocre Nebraska fanbase. Because Iowa can’t win anything else.I was disappointed and depressed after some close losses. I didn't quit on the team, kept going to the games, the team didn't quit on me, we are ending the season on a positive note. Kind of like all your newspapers said this week, Sipple and the boys said this is a "huge game for Nebraska, we can say there is progress, momentum" now you cant. I prefer how we ended, instead of how you ended. Until next year my boy. Signing off. I wish you an incredible portal season and hope you sell out your spring game.
The question you should be concerned about…will Matt Rhule get it “figured out”?I love that iowa fans think that NEXT year, their coach will get it all "figure out".
I bet Iowa will finish in top 25, particularly if they beat an SEC team in their bowl game.Won’t see many 8-4 teams in the top 25 unless it’s an SEC team
Fyi - you’re arguing with a chick. You will never win an argument against a female.I was disappointed and depressed after some close losses. You’ll probably draw Vanderbilt, Tennessee, LSU or Missouri. All a pretty tough draw. Out of those four who would you want? You may draw Oklahoma.I bet Iowa will finish in top 25, particularly if they beat an SEC team in their bowl game.
I hear you, but it is part of year-end record and bowl prep is valuable to young player’s development. Oh, I guess a Nebraska fan isn’t too concerned with player development when you can just go out and buy hard-nosed players.Bowl game?
Who cares. It is a bowl game.
No, he won't.The question you should be concerned about…will Matt Rhule get it “figured out”?
Lol…I hope Nebby keeps paying all those coaching buyouts!I hope so!
If Cigs has shown us anything it is that it simply doesn't take "time" to turn things around.
It surely doesn't take 25 years.
lol….i don’t know of one Minnesota fan (and I know many) who talk about their old championships. At least Nebraska and Minny have championships to talk about. Iowa? Not at all.
I hope they always fire bad coaches. Who cares about the money? It is not my money.Lol…I hope Nebby keeps paying all those coaching buyouts!
Maybe they're just humble.lol….i don’t know of one Minnesota fan (and I know many) who talk about their old championships.![]()
The fallacy of your “25 years” BS about Ferentz & Iowa is that during that timeframe Iowa has had teams that would have qualified in the current 12-team CFP format, so no reason to think it won’t happen in future.I hope so!
If Cigs has shown us anything it is that it simply doesn't take "time" to turn things around.
It surely doesn't take 25 years.
Well, it’s hard to account for key injuries.80%??? What the hell is wrong with you. I'm a Nebraska fan and I'm 99% sure Iowa will win next year.![]()
Two of those four losses were impacted by injuries to some key players and the fact that Gronowski was recovering from off-season injury/getting used to the offense. Now that those aren’t issues anymore, I feel confident that Iowa could compete/beat anyone. They will play a decent SEC team in a bowl game, which will test my theory.Wishing you a good few weeks of practice before Vandy boat races you in FL. Jeez 8-4, with that much NFL talent. It isn't, I have coached for years. 10-15 extra practices in December make no impact at all come the regular season.I hear you, but it is part of year-end record and bowl prep is valuable to young plsyer’s development. Oh, I guess a Nebraska fan isn’t too concerned with player development when you can just go out and buy hard-nosed players.![]()
Be honest. Did Kirk Ferentz personally kick you in the they/thems?I love that iowa fans think that NEXT year, their coach will get it all "figure out".
No preference from the teams you mentioned, although it might be nice to play Missouri…since they backed out of past scheduled games with IowaYou’ll probably draw Vanderbilt, Tennessee, LSU or Missouri. All a pretty tough draw. Out of those four who would you want? You may draw Oklahoma.
Subpar to very poor QB play. Can’t hide your quarterback in college football. This really is impressive. So what’s the difference between Iowa and those other schools ? Iowa will put a ton of players into the NFL just like the other three. Why can’t Iowa win any game that matters? What’s keeping Iowa from getting to the next level? Why haven’t they been able to do it in 25 years?
Once again…if the current 12-team CFP format would have been in place during Ferentz’s tenure…Iowa would have been in the playoffs many years. Therefore, with a chance to “win it all” as you say.No, he won't.
It doesn't take 30 years to figure it out. We don't want what you guys have been stuck with, just like you admitted you don't want it. Everyone wants to win it all.
Just like Iowa bragging about wrestling and women’s basketball when that one dude was playing for them.Kind of like when Nebraska fans “flex” about their women’s volleyball team.. did you hear me…women’s volleyball !!
Because paying such buyouts is not only a financial strain on the university, but also makes any good coaches “take pause” before going into such a situation.I hope they always fire bad coaches. Who cares about the money? It is not my money.
Are the Bowl tie ins still pretty standard from conference to conference with the new playoff ? You may draw an ACC team in Georgia Tech. Two of those four losses were impacted by injuries to some key players and the fact that Gronowski was recovering from off-season injury/getting used to the offense. Now that those aren’t issues anymore, I feel confident that Iowa could compete/beat anyone. They will play a decent SEC team in a bowl game, which will test my theory.![]()
Figured those idiots would have moved on to something else by nowFirst time I have ever had to hit the ignore button on these boards. Yeah, you know who you are. It's pathetic.
Nope…just so long ago…they are realistic and know it would look silly to “puff their chests” about them.Maybe they're just humble.
“Oldest son” / chickFyi - you’re arguing with a chick. You will never win an argument against a female.![]()
I never even knew your coaches first name.Be honest. Did Kirk Ferentz personally kick you in the they/thems?
You’ve been whining for MONTHS about Iowa’s Coach. You really take who’s wearing the headset on our sideline really personally.
You’re miserable.
Bad officiating? This really is impressive. So what’s the difference between Iowa and those other schools ? Iowa will put a ton of players into the NFL just like the other three. Why can’t Iowa win any game that matters? What’s keeping Iowa from getting to the next level? Why haven’t they been able to do it in 25 years?
It does give coaches more looks at younger players/potential position changes, etc.It isn't, I have coached for years. 10-15 extra practices in December make no impact at all come the regular season.
It is nice in theory but it is just coach speak.
It is like lifting weights, if you lift for those 2 weeks and don't keep lifting, it is not going to pay off.
For sure. I get that. I always thought it was crazy that Iowa and Wisconsin seemed to never be able to get a quality quarterback recruit in there. Why so many misses? Was it Brian F thing?Subpar to very poor QB play. Can’t hide your quarterback in college football.
Nebraska is done paying former coaches at this point. First time in many years. The # they paid out is mediocre compared to today’s salaries. How much buyout $ is Nebraska paying all their former coaches? If that # wasn’t so high, I assume Rhule would be bought out too? However, with a reported $50 million buyout fur Rhule…Nebraska is kind of “stuck in a rut”. That’s sad.
Ehhhh, I guess. It does give coaches more looks at younger players/potential position changes, etc.
You realize every single school can play the what if game? What if New Mexico State had won all of their games this century they would have 25 championships.Once again…if the current 12-team CFP format would have been in place during Ferentz’s tenure…Iowa would have been in the playoffs many years. Therefore, with a chance to “win it all” as you say.![]()
I’m not a wrestling fan, so I agree with you there. However, in the spectrum of popularity and $ generated..it’s football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball, in that order. Your lame “dig” on Caitlin Clark is funny, considering she’s one of the few straight players in the WNBA.Just like Iowa bragging about wrestling and women’s basketball when that one dude was playing for them.
Yes everyone wants to win it all. But let’s be honest. There are only a handful of teams who are equipped to do so. So if you’re saying only 1 fan base should be happy each year and the other 130+ fan bases should be miserable, then that’s just sad. I don’t think you feel that way but it’s a nice coping mechanism so you immediately lump yourselves into the 2-132 fan bases. Life doesn’t work that way. It’s like saying you’re only happy at work if you are the CEO; if youre just on the executive board you’re the same as the minimum wage line worker. No, he won't.
It doesn't take 30 years to figure it out. We don't want what you guys have been stuck with, just like you admitted you don't want it. Everyone wants to win it all.
