These were all taken off of an article on ESPN.com regarding the upcoming week in SEC football:

Ole Miss D has not looked this good in a while. Look for Ole Miss to have the best D in the country the rest of the season.</SPAN></SPAN>

Bo Wallace has put on a Heisman performance the last two games. Look for Bo Wallace to be the front runner for the Heisman after a dominating performance against Texas in week 3.</SPAN></SPAN>

Look for Ole Miss to enter the top 15 next week after a historic beatdown of Texas. </SPAN></SPAN>

Listening to the Ole Miss fans here at work, the delusion is hitting an all time

high. They truly believe that they're back. They now think Auburn and Arkansas are going to be wins, and that 6-6 is not out of the question. If Freeze gets them to 6-6, he's a miracle worker.

Didn't we hear the same thing last year when they beat Fresno and Tulane though? "Week 1 was a fluke" "David Carr's brother is a Heisman hopeful" "Tulane hasn't been this good since 1998".... It's the same thing every year. Let them have their fun.

It's makes the crash even better.

I thought it was funny that one of my OM friends who has basically been silent about MSU in the last two seasons all of the sudden sends me a text that said "Congratulations on winning the SEC opener for the first time this century. You guys are on the rise."

I didn't give a **** since I know the guy really well. He has to know that I will return the favor after their loss this weekend.

I will even admit that OM looks very improved over their team at the end of last season. I just don't think it is very difficult to look better when the entire team had already given up along with all the coaches. At least they aren't rolling over and taking it anymore.

The bear fans have been hibernating for way too long. Look for them to be totally ridiculous whenever they do end up beating us, not that I could really blame them though.

I'll give to Freeze - nothing scarier than a team that believes in themselves. They will hang with Texas.

I hope that day is about 15-20 years from now, and that their students rush the field and tear down the goal posts when they finally win an Egg Bowl.

I don't think so but the other side of their delusion is that we are turrible.

They simply can not bring themselves to admit we have a decent team, just can't do it.

Honest question, why do you think they have such a hard time giving us any credit at all.

Who cares... if they think we suck, then all we have to ask when we demolish them is, "how bad must they suck...?"

I don't care I just find it amusing that they can't bring themselves to admit

we are on solid ground right now. Not in their DNA, deny, deny, deny.

Texas is a notoriously slow starting team both this season and last season. They probably will hang with Texas but the depth the Longhorns have will finish them off late.

I`ve never seen anything like them. Ran into one this AM that I hadn`t seen in a while and finally just had to walk away. You want to say dude, you`ve beaten UCA and UTEP WTF ? I suspect they`ll be a bit quieter after this weekend but.....no smarter.

QB play is not very good

with Ash and Case mccoy (colts brother) is the back-up. They are loaded at RB and all of them are good (malcolm brown and Jonathon Grey). Very good d-line I hear. I think om will play tight with them, and have a chance late.

What is really funny is that our single win against Auburn matched Ole Miss' win total in their last 17 SEC games.

I watched a good bit of your game with Mrs. MTAD Saturday. I guess I am in the minority, because I thought y'all look really good. The defense is salty, and Tyler Russell is showing signs that he can be really good this year. His arm is unquestioned, and he can make a lot of the difficult throws. For the most part, it appeared he was making good decisions too.

At the same time, I do not believe that Ole Miss will win 6, but I am pleasantly surprised at how we have looked. Freeze is getting more out of these guys than the talent he possesses. Against inferior talent, he has done a pretty good job at hiding our obvious weakness at a few positions on both sides of the ball. And, my favorite stat is they is we only have 6 penalties so far. All Freeze has to do is beat one team he shouldn't and win against Tulane. That is progress and given Vandy, Ark, Auburn and possibly A&M do not look unbeatable, 4-5 wins is not out of the question.

As inexperienced as our staff is, they are doing a pretty good job. In contrast, Markuson's OL Coachng career lasted 2 games outside of HDN's umbrella, and our former DC gave up 500 yards to D1AA team. Maybe our talent is not as bad as we thought.

Well as someone pulling for the Horns this weekend, Mack Brown scares the 17 out of me.

I agree with you. I think if they get anywhere with in 10 points and have a few good trick plays (only way they move the ball) it willbe a moral victory. They depend on too many end-arounds and Texas will know how to stop them. The moral victory will feed their delusion machine.

I suspect Texas will mess around and keep them in the game. However, Ole Miss seems to be having some trouble hanging onto the football and turnovers will probably kill them in the 4th quarter. They can get away with it against UTEP and UCA, but try that against any of the SEC schools, and they are in trouble. Also, I think the trickery Freeze is using for his offense will get shut down once they run into some SEC speed.

You can tell it is Manny's D. They may bend some in the first half but they clamp it down in the second.

Yeah the QB controversy invades every attempt at a civilized conversation with the Horns over here in Austin.

Not for long, they won't. This isn't the Texas team from the past 2 years. It's not the top-5 Texas team either, but they're pretty good.

you guys must bring out the worst in ole miss fans........

the ones i know realize msu has a good team. we might not agree with some of your more optimistic fans that you're going to beat bama and lsu this yr but the ole miss folks i talk to acknowledge msu is a good team and wait for it....mullen is a good coach....i know, i know.....but its sort of like some of you guys expecting UTEP to step on our necks after they gave OK a decent game. now that we beat them, they were horrible. neither fanbase is going to easily give any credit to the other.

i'm getting a little wooly because i do think auburn is a team we might have a chance to beat. they're bad. now you guys beat them like a red headed step child so i'm not taking a thing away from msu. also if tyler wilson (?) is still hobbled or out maybe we have a shot at ark too. who knows.

i expect msu to have a good season and i'm hopeful ours may be better than a lot of folks thought.

Well I appreciate your posts but you have to look hard for Ole Miss fans willing

to pay State a compliment. I'll say it again, Freeze is doing a good job and has far exceeded
what I thought he would be doing right now with that team. You said it well in your post, he has
done an outstanding job of hiding the weaknesses so far and that tells me he knows what he is
doing.

It's a win-win for Ole Miss fans.

Win: "We're the third best team in the west and we're going to finish with 9+ wins because we beat #17 Texas!"

Lose: "Freeze is a first year coach and before this game Wallace was in the top 10 in offense. I expected to lose. We hung with what I think is a top 5 team at the end of the year."

Blah blah blah. Some of y'all need to accept that they're always going to say stuff positive about their school and never give credit to anyone other than their adopted son/team Peyton Manning at UT.

Quit worrying what they're saying and worry about us. We have 3 or 4 guys on our defense alone who are going to go in the top 4 rounds of the draft this year. We have the #1 CB and we signed the #1 DT out of high school last year and the best DL class in the nation while they scraped up a JUCO kid who Freeze signed at ASU and he's beaten D2 schools. Congrats. Now let it go.

Some of you will never be happy because you're worrying about what some barred out frat boy at a sleazy school is saying about your team.

I do not understand the Ole Miss hype. They have given up 658 yds of offense in 2 games to two horrible teams (1 being an FCS team), and the sad thing is both of the teams they beat shot themeselves in the foot in the red zone. Had those two teams not **** down there leg, they both could have had chances to win the ball game. It is a sad state when an SEC team is RELIEVED to be 2-0 after facing those two teams. I may be way off base but I truly think Texas is going to absolutely expose Ole Miss.

UTEP's backup QB and backup RB are nowhere near what Texas has. This won't be close.

Where did you get this false information that UTEPs backup QB played a significant role? Their #1 QB threw 33 passes this past Saturday. Their backup threw something like 6 or 7.

End arounds? I think we ran 1 all game. Or are you confusing that with misdirection? Seems to work for teams across the country.
