YouTube tv dispute with Disney means no espn for now including our game.

Our game with old Miss airs on ESPN. YouTube tv won't have it unless they agree soon. Usually the agreements happen pretty quickly when there is a dispute once channels are pulled. But you may want to consider alternatives if needed. There is a one day pass with sling TV for 5 bucks that would have ESPN.

"Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library

Somehow, it’s always the consumer that gets screwed in this deal.

Disney wants you to use Hulu or the espn app to watch live sports. YouTube TV is a direct competitor so they are trying to price out YouTube TV (otherwise YT will have to raise standard prices).

it’s complete BS.

YT is projected to surpass Disney in total revenue this year, so they are panicking.

What is the point of having choices when they are all capitalistic driven. Competition was supposed to bring better product and deals. We all get screwed no matter the choice. Seemed easier when we all just had time warner cable.

It would be nice to see what would happen of we really had choices.

Who would order HGTV if it was a la carte, and not tied to ESPN? How many channels would die, and how expensive would it be to only have the channels we want?

I personally have noticed that I watch YouTube and a couple streaming services now, and almost no live TV. (Other than sports).

I may just offset the price increase by canceling YTTV during the college football offseason.

That's what I do. Get YTTV during college football season. Even when I have it, I almost never watch anything on live tv.

And, yeah, the bundling is what escalates prices. It's not generally the carriers' fault. It's the networks forcing people to pay for channels they don't want and will never watch. Absurd.

Must be why there are so many shows on that couldn't have much of an audience. I saw a housewives show the other day with nothing but unattractive overweight women. Who watches that?

Yes, but they don't have a free trial in case you were just looking for something for the weekend.

Directv streaming and fubo have free trials and carry ESPN and ABC.
I'm thinking of switching to Hulu Live. A few of the early men's basketball games are on SEC+ or ESPN+. I just want to make sure I can watch them without using the ESPN app.

This is the reason I have kept up my ESPN+ subscription just in case. I pay it yearly and it's only $10.00 a month by doing that. It's provides essentially the same programming as the new ESPN app at a 1/3 of the price. Who knows though. They might try to do something with us logging in through YouTubeTV. I hope ESPN tries that so I can start a class action suit.

Signed up for DTV free trial. It doesn't include ESPN. When I try to go to that channel, it says I need to subscribe to watch.

Edit: Looked it up. You're supposed to download the ESPN app separately. Did tah, logged in with DTV credentials, and no channel is part "of your TV package".

So not sure how DTV is a help here, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Is ABC available OTA? I've not been able to get it where I am.

Okay, did more research. DTV customers are supposed to get an email inviting them to join "ESPN Unlimited". But the emails were rolled out in waves and will be sent by Nov 30th. So no guarantee.

I have not received this email yet.

Because anti-trust laws are not enforced to create competition.

I agree that Disney sees this as an opportunity to drive customers to their streaming service.
As for me I grew listening to games on the radio so I’ll tune into Sirius and be just fine.

I signed up for HULU Live to watch the game and try it out. The live TV interface is slow and clunky. I'll probably cancel it in a few days.

Fubo offers a free 5 day trial if you want to watch football today. I am using it until YT gets their crap straight!
You mean until Disney gets their crap straight. If YTTV gives in you will likely see the monthly rates increase with the next payment.

Yea Hulu and ESPN+ make it tough to switch quickly between games. I miss DirecTV for this very reason...could program 3 or 4 channels in a favorites queue and cycle between them almost instantly.

The only games I can watch on YTTV are PSU and Rutgers. I bet they reach an agreement Monday once Disney decides they raked in enough new subscribers to HULU.

Yeah, I'm one of them. But I'll also cancel and only pay one month. I wouldnt keep Hulu unless I had to.

Well, I would not recommend Hulu. The interface is TERRIBLE.

It takes forever to change a channel, and thats after their weak navigation system. They have a "recent channels" function, but it wont save the UF-UGA game for some reason, and I have to navigate back to the home page to select it.

Oh, and I need to scroll past the Spanish broadcast and the sky cam broadcast each time to get to the regular channel.

Changing channels just stinks.

Whoever designed this should be fired.
