But I thought he did an excellent job on his blitzing, but there were 2 or 3 times where he had the QB squared up to take his head off and he just kind of tried to arm tackle him, and he missed him. Was I missing something on these plays?

I made the comment yesterday during the game about this...why this kid basically "whiffed" on 3-4 blitz is beyond me. I think we had the QB dead to rights and Smith basically played touch football.....he needs to have a target taped on brick wall and made to run into it several times until he gets the point....we cannot miss those types of opportunites in a game against Florida, Ga. Tech or anyone else on our schedule.
I wonder if we could petition the SEC to let Zach carry his protractor on the field with him. The son of a gun takes the worst angles to make tackles of any player than I can remember. Whether it be last week against Auburn on the option, or this week on blitzes where he had a clean path to the quarterback and he decides to take the scenic route in a sem-circle to get there. He is not my favorite player.

Everyone is paying attention to Zach smith because of what happened at the Auburn game. Our secondary is receiving a lot of attention and he was supposed to be a solid player in it this season but yet he has shown us he is not the coverage player we needed him to be. Its great he can blitz and go untouched into the backfield but he can't finish the 17ing play.

read the rules, change your username, and then quit posting altogether. And I wouldn't mind putting the pads on and rollin with Zach Smith. 1. I could definitely shake him with no problem, and 2. He'd probably miss when he came in for the "head busting" hit. And yes, I guess I was one of the few, out of the thousands of posters here, that made it out of pee wee football.

make a straight angle to the ball carrier. I do like his fire & spunk & I'm sure the coaches do but he isn't good enough to be starting at safety.He's probably gonna be burnt like toast at least 3 times against LSU this week-end. We need somebody with more speed back there.
