I’m not sure why the Head Coach mattered. Leach let him act independently, he didn’t care what they did as long as it worked, and it worked.
I wonder if we found a coupon in the newspaper for a 80% off one time purchase for a DC that tanked our program.

If Arnett had left after Leach passed to a different job and now we were looking at hiring him back I would expect the reactions would be overwhelming positive. He was put in an unfortunate position and failed. I do not factor that in. He is a good DC.
Could have paired Moorhead with Croom, very similar to Lebby and Arnett
This was not true the first time they tried to sell this hire to us and it’s not true now. Arnett was a mid defensive coordinator and a horrible head coach. Did he get fired for driving naked through a Wendy’s drive thru?

I don't know how this will go, but it sure feels like interference from those above the HC. If that's the case, then the coming season I already saw as pretty hopeless is now just lipstick on a pig.

Well we could just do the right thing and fire the clown and get on with our lives. Hope shltty Selmans is gone by then.

Arnett was a terrible head coach who hired a terrible staff. He was not a mid defensive coordinator. He was a very good DC and we worried every year an Alabama or LSU was going to hire him away.
I don’t know if it’s going to work the second time or not. But I know I’d rather try than continue with Hutzler or take a stab on someone else without less experience.

I don’t like Lebby. I think he is dumb. He hired the same DC that the guy you worship did (and kept and thought a lot of). You sound have yourself in a pretzel. We did not hire Arnett to do a job he isn’t qualified to do this time. If we had done that I would be upset. You’re just so mad that he got rid of your cult’s offensive staff that you don’t care that he is a pretty good DC. All that you care about is your idol.
70 years of hearing this poor mouth stuff. Most of this board has a glass that is either empty or mostly empty. Not what I expected but he was a good DC under Leach. I choose to support him. Like my daddy always said it’s easy to be a horses rear. Takes effort to support the family. We got a bunch of horses rears on this board.
Ultimately it won't matter if we DON'T RECRUIT SOME DAMNED LINEMEN ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL.

do you think the Lebby offense will be better or worse with TOP compared to 2021 ?
Worse because our Oline couldn't block worth a ****. If we're scoring TDs at a pretty consistent rate or can sustain drives for more than 1:00 of gametime, the TOP will take care of itself.
Might not work because lebby is not a good HC but replacing hustler was MANDATORY and arnett is probably about the best he could have done under the circumstances 200% upgrade from hutz and no other DC worth shooting was going to come with the hammer hanging over Lebby‘s head.
Any way you look at it, it's still an upgrade. Got to try something.
