it IS a shame - I understand the kid was troubled, but he's old enough to know better than this. Hate it when these guys throw away their chances
Wow, what a fall from grace. Was about to be Uconn's next Center, probably pretty good by Junior Senior year, playing on a pretty talented team that has no real stiff competition... booted from the school because he couldn't get along with anyone on the team.. and now his entire basketball career could be over.

There is a biography episode on youtube about him. Its a weird story. His mother was a crack addict. Zach played with this white jewish kid on a AAU team. The kids dad took him in and moved him to the wealthy side of Miami.
The kids dad came off weird. Saying things like his son and zach were brothers and zach is as much of a son to him as his own.
Crazy part was when zach became Jewish. Best part of the documentary was when zach went back to the ghetto to see his family. His family did not seem to like the white jewish man who now takes credit for zachs success. His family seemed real interested in zachs financial future. Best part was when he told them he was converting to Judaism. Zachs mom and aunt had issues with that.

Ollie and UConn saw the problems with brown and that's why they cut ties with him. The relationship soured when he was booted from PSA as Ollie wanted him in CT away from his camp and the bad distractions in Miami.
No one saw this type of thing coming but there a reason a lot of high profile schools backed off this kid. Hopefully this is a wake up call and he can straighten out his life.

Browns legal guardian is a wealthy man. In the documentary Brown was on cloud 9 walking around in expensive clothes having expensive meals living in a big house in a neighborhood away from those bad destractions. Not sure what happened. But sounds like this white Jewish guy trying to create his own blind side moment has turned his back on this young man. Im sure the guardian could bail the kid out of jail, but chooses not to. Try to imagine being in a Miami county jail. Gotta be rough for a 18 year old young man.
