Was Bumphis' TD return in bounds? The replay in the stadium looked in bounds. Me and the stadium were pretty damn pissed. The last time I heard boos and cuss words that loud was the time the ref wouldn't let us run a play to score against Arkansas.

And Bama's last INT that went off our guy's hands - looks like he trapped it, rolled over it, and never had control - even letting go of the ball after rolling over it.

Overall, I thought this was like the Florida game - meaning we deserved to be in a 1-score game in the 4th quarter, probably would have lost anyway, but should have had a puncher's chance of pulling a miracle upset in a 1-score 4th quarter. But the refs prevented that chance from happening. Shoulda been 17-10 before they took the wind out of our sails.

I know I was pretty damn deflated after Bumphis' TD was disallowed.

Personally, I think Bumphis stayed in. Matt Wyatt said in the 5th quarter show that the camera angles on ESPN were inconclusive. However they called it on the field was going to stand. They called Bumphis out and protected Bama. Completely swung the momentum with that call. Period.

must not have seemed out of line that bad. And as you know they would have gone berserk.

Yes, at the stadium the Bumphis return looked in, but ?

It looked definitive. It was close, but he wasn't out. He definitely didn't step on top of any white. The edge of his shoe was pretty damn close to the white, but I guarandamntee you he didn't step on any white. It was a ******** call from some ref he was looking for an opportunity to call a guy out of bounds.

For me to overturn it, I'd want to see it several times.

My first and only look, said he was in...but, like I said ...but?

Bumphis told Mullen on the sideline that he stepped out of bounds and not to challenge it.
No he didn't. The ref told Mullen that Bumphis stepped on the white. That's they way I read Kyle's blog.

And realistically, I doubt Bumphis 1) is looking at his own feet to know if he stepped out, and 2) would go tell Mullen that he stepped out.

First of all, on the huge screen replay he didn't look out. What that means is, if he was out, he was barely out, I mean a smidgen of his foot grazed the out of bounds line. Now, that said and understood, there is no way you can convince me that, as Bumphis is hauling butt down field, the ref definitively saw Bumphis step out. That's ridiculous. There's no way. If Bumphis was indeed out, and I don't believe he was, but if he was I can't buy that these absolute incompetent morons could pick that up in the heat of that play. There's no way they should have called him out. They should have ruled it a TD and then replayed it if they wanted to see if he went out or not. Because they called him out, there was zero chance to overturn.

As far as Bumphis saying he stepped out, I watched Chaney throw an absolute fit at the refs after the play. He was ticked. I don't think he knew about Bumphis stepping out.

I agree Storm. If Bama runs that ball back, especially if the game is close, no way the official makes the call. He lets it go and relies on the replay official. In my opinion, none the replays were conclusive either. Bama TD.

It looked like he touched the line from the ESPN shots. And it looked like the interception was the correct call also. Both extremely close calls that you would think the booth would have asked to look at just to be sure, but they wouldn't have changed the ruling on the field.

Who Police escorts the Zebras out to the airport?

Was stuck in traffic on Hwy. 12 when the Zebras came flying by with escort. The weird thing was the escort was unmarked with red and blue lights. Most of the local area LE have only blue lights. About 30 minutes later as I was on 182, a Police convoy came flying up the highway. You would have thought it was the FBI or Secret Service with blacked out Tahoes covered in red and blue lights. They were escorting a limo bus which I assumed to be Nick Saban. Looked like Alabama Troopers in the escort. So the question is was the unmarked car Alabama State Troopers trying to get the Zebras out of town?

I didn't see any players stop playing. I really doubt the a whistle was blown.

No way the a ref sees that at full speed and sees him step out. That ref was thinking to himself "ooo that guy is veering to the sideline, he's getting close and I he's probably gonna step out...yep there it was". Basically, it was an anticipation call.

Sort of what you see in basketball sometimes. A ref thinks to himself, surely with all those arms around there somebody fouled.

Most refs hurry to spot the ball in the waning minute or two of a half. Those guys at the Ark game went out of their way to be slow about it. I'm gonna say they were slower in that last 9 seconds than they were at any other point in the game. Yeah, that still pisses me off too.

The "you can't run a play" official at the Arkansas game, the "Bama OL can tackle our DL" in an early 90's Jay Barker Bama game @ Starkville, phantom pass interference when Fourcade beat us in an Egg Bowl, and the body of work known as replaygate this year are on my all-time pissed off list.
