UK is the only rumored school where he can get the money he wants while also being a guaranteed starter and get the most minutes (aka we need him the most). He's also as close to a perfect fit as it gets for Pope's style of play.

Given all of that in our favor, if we fail to land him I don't really know what you say at that point. This is one of the few recruitments that I can genuinely say is set up on a tee for Pope.

You believe whatever you want but he’s coming here. Other teams can scramble to play catchup before the commitment all they want. It amazes me that any tweet or fb post and you guys take it as gospel. It’s comical at this point, watch and see and be happy that we finally landed one.
It amazes me that anyone takes anything you say even remotely seriously. All you're doing is reading others' tweets then passing off the information as your own as if you have inside information. Remotely intelligent people laugh at you

Feels like a last ditch effort by Pope knowing Mom is leaning AZ or UL. Hope not - hope it's a commitment call. But Mom might be respectful enough to either entertain a last pitch or nice enough to deliver the rejection on a call rather than just selecting another school and leaving UK cold.
It’s hard not to think that with how this cycle has gone. Idk how anyone could feel confident before the ink is dry. I hope it’s a commitment, too, bc sadly, next season basically hinges on it.

We've been here before so many times, people need to understand. Maybe people forgot what it's like to get a truly coveted player and be happy and feel better - It's a very big & positive development, and the narrative has been Pope vs. the fans that want immeidate satisfaction, he can't land a bigtime stud., can't coach, etc.... And he has not fulfilled his proper duty, even Pope himself can say that.

But any of this doesn't mean that we act in any way like this is a an instant savior moment (mail the trophy moment) or anything that massively grandiose here ....

what it is : a moment of simply breaking through to a change of perception and expectation, like winning your first NCAA tournament game. And finally getting a star performer with the chance for HIS TEAM that he put together, to prove itself.

All of that had to happen, we all knew that and still vast improvements NEED to happen THIS year, it is a sense of urgency, and maybe THAT is why this development is seen as so positive, critical and crucial.

That's a good thing, it's a process where there is nowhere for anyone to hide here. That is Kentucky basketball. If it's too hot in the kitchen here for you, then you can show yourself out.

So here I've been quietly enjoying the day passing by, Batcats were fun to watch, if sloppy... Vols went down in epic 13, 14? inning fashion. Waiting to hear from my sad Vol rfiends in 3....2....1... ohwaitaminute... they didn't even know the Vols were playing.....

and refreshing the Rafter's every 15 minutes like the days when we had "The Door" thread to follow ( I was at work, back then...) instead of ... all of the ones we have on Milan here and now.

It's all good. I wokeup and was drawing breath, saying my good graces and being a good boy. Good things come to those that can live long enough and have patience to ...simply .... wait.

Go Big Blue !

My gut still says he's committing right now on that call. Just always keep a level of healthy skepticism until it's confirmed.

That's fine, I have said my gut says he was coming here. I was just poking at you because you said it was totally done at 1:30 pm on a certain day this week.
It was yesterday at 1:30, I only go off what I’m told and I don’t change based on internet rumors and scuttlebutt. I stand by the few people I know and unless they tell me differently I stick with what I’ve heard first hand.

Trolls are obviously against us signing Momcilovic, but unfortunately, I think there are a lot of folks who pull for UK that hate Pope so much and have invested so much in the Pope must go comments that they are actually worried that we so end up with a top 10 team. And that's a sad statement
I get the same vibe cowboy. the trolls I can understand, the pope haters wanting us to fail unbelievable.

I caught a lot of flak for suggesting that Pope should be more aggressive in negotiations by dropping the big bag and say here it is. This disappears without a signature on 6 hours.

Only to find out that’s exactly what Pitino has been doing this cycle. Pope and staff suck at maintaining leverage.
It’s all about how you say it and Pope doesn’t have it in him to say it how Pitino can say it. There are things Pitino could say if he got jumped in an alley that would make the would-be perp set his gun gently on the ground and run for mommy. Let Pope say exactly those same things in exactly that same situation with his very meanest snarl and we’d have a reenactment of the “goodnight, sweet prince” scene from RoboCop.

That’s because nobody wants to play for him. That’s all it is.
