Nick Saban lists most important aspects of LSU game

Both Alabama and LSU got an extra week of rest and preparation as they’re both coming off of bye weeks ahead of their highly anticipated matchup with one another this Saturday.
Saturday’s game will represent a rematch of one of last year’s most thrilling games of the season, as LSU was able to pull out the narrow 32-31 win over the Crimson Tide at home in overtime. And to avoid the same result this season, Alabama head coach Nick Saban spoke about the most important aspects of this weekend’s game to open up his Wednesday press conference.
“Most important thing I think in this game is great practice habits technically, work on the things that you need to do to go execute,” Saban said. “You know you’re going to play against a good player, they have a lot of good players. Need to know exactly what to do, how to do it, why it’s important to do it that way so when it comes to the game you’re not really thinking about it, you can do it automatically.”
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels may be the best player the Crimson Tide face this week, serving as the focal point of the Tigers’ high powered offense that leads the SEC in total yards, passing yards, and points scored per game.
Saban has previously spoken about the difficulties that come with preparing to face a player like Daniels who poses just as much of a threat with his arm and his legs. Which makes the importance of attention to detail in practice and in film study throughout the week even more vital for Alabama.

“That takes great preparation and focus, and that’s what’s going to help you have success in the game and that’s what guys have to stay focused on,” Saban said. “You can’t worry about what everyone else says, or thinks, or does. You’ve got to worry about what you’ve got to do and I think that’s the most important thing for our team right now.”
A lot of noise surrounding Alabama following their uncharacteristic start to the season but through it all the Crimson Tide remained focused and locked in when it mattered most, when the SEC schedule began.
Alabama entered the bye week coming off of five straight wins with the last six being against SEC opponents, as they currently sit atop the West standings as the only undefeated team in conference play within the division.
The Crimson Tide got revenge from last year’s close loss to Tennessee prior to their bye week as well, and it will be interesting to see if they can achieve the same versus the Tigers this Saturday at 7:45 p.m. in a game airing on CBS.
