Alabama injury updates: Kalen DeBoer reveals status of Ryan Williams, Tim Keenan, Jam Miller, more

Part of the struggles for Kalen DeBoer involves injuries to some of Alabama‘s best players. Multiple guys are banged up heading into the Louisiana-Monroe game. On Wednesday, during the SEC Coaches Teleconference, DeBoer provided an update on them all, beginning with wide receiver Ryan Williams.
“Coming along day-to-day,” DeBoer said. “Been on the practice field. He’s doing the normal protocol and coming along nicely. That’s probably the best way to explain it.”
Williams left during the fourth quarter against Florida State, officially dealing with a concussion. He did not have his best performance beforehand due to a few drops, only catching five passes for 30 yards. Not what anybody expected out of the sophomore after incredible moments in 2024.
More good news came on another wide receiver, Isaiah Horton. Seen riding the sideline bike during the broadcast, Horton appears to be trending well. DeBoer raved about Horton’s status and believes the Miami transfer is set to contribute in a big way.
“Isaiah is looking great,” DeBoer said. “Isaiah is doing a great job. Was extremely sore and really did a nice job turning the corner here over the last 24 hours. So, I expect — assuming there’s no setbacks — I expect him to be at a pretty high level on Saturday.”
Kalen DeBoer provides latest on multi-week Alabama injuries
Heading down to Tallahassee, Alabama knew they would be without defensive lineman Tim Keenan and running back Jam Miller. Both suffered multi-week injuries and appear to be out for Louisiana-Monroe. However, DeBoer seems optimistic about the progress being made by both of them.

“Tim Keenan will not be available this week,” DeBoer said. “But he’s doing really well and making the progress that we would have expected. This is not a long-term injury for him. …
“Jam is doing really well. Will not be available this week but coming along, again, as good as you could’ve expected. We knew there would be a possibility for next week and that’s certainly still the case.”
DeBoer’s final update came on Jah-Marien Latham, where, once again, a positive tone came from the head coach. Still, he is unsure if Latham will be ready to roll on Saturday. Potentially another loss in the front seven for the Crimson Tide.
“Jah-marion Latham is actually doing better,” DeBoer said. “Just the word I got here, doing better than we expected. Unsure yet of what that looks like for this weekend.”
