Alabama has landed a commitment from Northern Kentucky outfielder Logen Devenport out of the transfer portal. He announced the news on his Instagram account.

A first-team All-Horizon League member, Devenport was one of the top hitters in the country this year. He finished the year with a .423 batting average, racking up 19 doubles and 14 home runs while driving in 54 runs.

He boasted a slugging percentage of .786 and an on-base percentage of .533. Those are the kind of numbers that had just about everyone looking at him out of the transfer portal.

Though he plays primarily in the outfield, Logen Devenpoort has also pitched at times. He made nine appearances in 2023, as well as three in 2024. But he has a combined ERA in those appearances of just 10.22. He struck out 10 while walking nine.

Alabama will almost certainly use him for his bat at the plate and his potential to field. In 2025, Logen Devenport had a fielding percentage of .987. He made just one error all year.

Alabama lands second baseman

Logen Devenport isn’t the only addition for Alabama during this transfer cycle. Purdue Fort Wayne second baseman Justin Osterhouse has committed to Alabama via the NCAA Transfer Portal, he revealed on Twitter. Osterhouse was an All-Horizon League Second-Team selection in 2025.

The Grand Rapids, MI native started 52 games for IPFW this season, leading the team in batting average (.328), on-base percentage (.453), slugging percentage (.636), runs (51), hits (64), RBIs (46), home runs (16), total bases (124), hit by pitches (15) and stolen bases (13).

Osterhouse made waves around college baseball earlier this season when he hit four home runs, including a walk-off grand slam, and had the pitching win vs. Wright State on May 15, 2025. That would be a stellar performance against any team, but putting up numbers like that against a team that made the Nashville Regional Final is extremely impressive.
