Alabama offers former Maryland TE CJ Dippre

With the transfer portal in full swing, players are now searching for their new homes for next season. One of the portal’s better tight end targets, former Maryland tight end CJ Dippre, is one of the biggest names available. With several teams zeroing in on him, Dippre’s latest offer is a game-changer.

Per his Twitter page, Dippre announced the offer he’d received from Alabama. He tagged Crimson Tide tight ends coach Joe Cox and Nick Cochran, an offensive analyst on the staff, on what is looking to be a big recruiting weekend for Nick Saban’s program.

Dippre, a sophomore out of Jermyn, Pennsylvania, has caught 33 passes in his college career for 339 yards and three touchdowns. This comes after being a three-star prospect in 2021 coming out of Lakeland High School.

Per On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings, Dippre is the No. 83 ranked player in the portal. He’s the No. 4 tight end as there’s also interest from other SEC competitors for his services in South Carolina and Ole Miss.

With Cameron Latu’s career over, the Tide could use a proven prospect to join a young tight end room. That makes Dippre a major option for the Tide now that their offer is on the table.

Say this about legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban: He doesn’t mind putting in the work. Even with NIL allowing college programs more direct routes to enhance the player experience, Saban knows it still takes a good deal of elbow grease to attract top talent.

Maybe even literally.

As is tradition for Nick Saban, a little Cupid Shuffle never hurts putting everyone at ease. On a weekend when Alabama was hosting multiple top-notch recruits ahead of the early signing period beginning on Dec. 21, Saban busted out the dance moves.

A video of Saban’s Cupid Shuffle dance was posted to Facebook by Tracy Tyrome Varner, a trainer at MADhouse Fitness in Montgomery, Ala.
