Jahvon Quinerly shares Alabama players' message to Brandon Miller
It’s been a wild season for Alabama basketball, as much for what has happened off the court as on it. And the Crimson Tide and star Brandon Miller have some lofty goals as the postseason picks up.
Already SEC regular-season champions, Alabama will take the floor in Bridgestone Arena again on Friday. They’re likely to hear continued chants from the fans, referencing the capital murder charge facing former player Darius Miles and the continued handling of the situation by the program.
“We hear the chants,” the freshman Miller said this week. “I feel like we just really lean on each other just to go to places like that and pull out tough wins.”
Brandon Miller, of course, is the mega-talented freshman star.
His world was turned upside down when it was reported that he unknowingly drove the gun in the murder case involving Miles to the scene of the crime.
His teammates have done their best to stay with Miller and make sure he’s handling everything OK, knowing he’s still an integral part of the team and has not been charged with anything in connection to the capital murder case.

That’s a point Jahvon Quinerly made sure to underscore as the SEC Tournament gets set to begin.
“I feel like we just stayed together as a team,” Quinerly said. “We just made sure that he was good.”
If Brandon Miller has been impacted by all the noise surrounding the situation, it hasn’t really shown in his play. The freshman is averaging a team-leading 19.6 points per game, as well as 8.0 rebounds per game, good for second on the team.
He’ll get the chance to take the floor on Friday and quiet some more doubters.
Alabama is set to take on the winner of a game between Florida and Mississippi State. That game will take place on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET.
