Jalen Milroe describes punishments Alabama players face for missing class

College students are rarely perfect about attending class. That’s no different for star athletes like Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe. However, when players are a part of a team, there can sometimes be repercussions outside of class for missing or being late.
While making an appearance on Bussin’ With The Boys, Milroe described the punishments that Alabama players face when they do miss class.
“Yeah, we do that [log rolls]…bear crawl, sled pushes, pop-ups like across the field,” Jalen Milroe said. “Each five-yard line you do a pop-up.”
Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, the hosts of Bussin’ With The Boys, laughed and shared some of the similar punishments they faced during their playing days. That included one instance for Compton where the entire team was punished for leaving the locker room a mess and orange cones were used to show where players threw up. One from Lewan featured the team needing to wear red jerseys to show they’d been doing the wrong thing.
At the same time, the two also agreed that in the future Jalen Milroe is going to look back on those moments fondly.
In December of 2023, Jalen Milroe graduated alongside 14 other Crimson Tide players. He earned a degree in business with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He did so while spending 2023 as the team’s starting quarterback, leading Alabama to the College Football Playoff.

Now, Jalen Milroe returns for the 2024 season. His goal will, undoubtedly, be to once again return to the College Football Playoff. Except, this time, he wants to see the Crimson Tide win a national championship.
Jalen Milroe on what he brings to Kalen DeBoer’s offense
New Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is known for his offensive system. It’s a system that Jalen Milroe believes he can bring plenty to.
“I think I can do whatever I want, whether run it, throw it, like, I can do whatever I want in this offense. So if I want to choose to run the whole game, I can choose to run the whole game. I could choose to throw this game, and I’m just very you know confident in our coaching staff, confident in what they see in the future as far as our offense,” Milroe said.
“Coach DeBoer has been done a really good job in the relationship aspect. You know, coach is going to coach, whether it’s talking about offense, talking about defense, talking about special teams, coach is going to be a coach. You know, that’s their job is to be a coach, influence us in a positive way to get us to be successful in whatever form or fashion they see it.”
