Jeremiah Beaman injury update: Kalen DeBoer reveals devastating news on DL

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed on Wednesday night’s edition of ‘Hey Coach & The Kalen DeBoer Show‘ that defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman will likely miss the rest of the season due to a lower-body injury.
The redshirt freshman recorded one QBH in Alabama‘s 31-17 loss to Florida State last Saturday. Last season, Beaman contributed two tackles and one QBH in just three games played (Wisconsin, LSU, Michigan).
“We unfortunately had an injury this morning in practice,” Deboer said. “The word is out and the families and everything have been notified, but Jeremiah Beaman suffered a lower-body injury and right now we’re expecting him to be out for the year. So it’s really unfortunate for a guy like that and it’s such a fine line right now. You’re going hard and these guys are practicing.”
“You’re trying to go good vs. good and trying to play the speed of the game. Same thing happened with him. Innocent stuff. It’s physical football and in the trenches down there legs get tangled up. It’s one of those injuries where nobody’s at fault.”
Beaman is a four-star prospect out of Parker High School (Birmingham, AL) in the Class of 2024, where he was tabbed as the No. 79 ranked player in the country. His redshirt freshman season however is now likely over.
The hits just keep on coming to Alabama’s 2025 season
His injury is just another devastating blow to an Alabama program that got completely rocked in the opening week of the 2025 college football season.

The ‘Noles and Crimson Tide were tied at seven through the first quarter of their season opener, but Florida State rattled off 17 unanswered points to take a 24-7 lead with 9:45 remaining in the third quarter. Alabama cut it to a 24-17 game courtesy of a Rico Scott receiving touchdown early in the fourth, but a rushing touchdown by FSU back Gavin Sawchuck all but wrapped up the win for the ‘Noles.
Alabama opened a season with a loss for the first time since 2001 (UCLA) and has now lost three of its last four games dating back to last season (Oklahoma, Michigan and Florida State). ‘ESPN College GameDay‘ panelist Kirk Herbstreit ripped Alabama for its performance during Saturday night’s Clemson/LSU broadcast.
“I think the shocker of the day is Alabama and Florida State,” Herbstreit said. “Both how average Alabamalooked and how dominant Florida State looked. Average. As average and lethargic as they could look.”
“On the other end of that, Mike Norvell and Florida State showed up with an attitude and they were tired of hearing about 2-10. Give them all the credit in the world. They look like they’re gonna be a fun team to watch this year, but Alabama’s got ALOT of work to do.”
The Crimson Tide are back in action on Saturday at home against UL-Monroe.
