Alabama defensive back Jordan Battle recently said he’s the best basketball player on the Crimson Tide’s roster. So, CBS reporter — and former college basketball player — Jamie Erdahl decided to put Battle’s skills to the test in a game of PIG.

It wasn’t just Battle and Erdahl, though. Bryce Young and Jameson Williams got in on the game, as well. The result? Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty for the football players.

Young was the first one eliminated after getting all three letters, closely followed by Williams. That meant it was Erdahl vs. Battle — neither of whom had a letter.

Ultimately, Erdahl came out on top, but Battle still thinks his point stands since he beat Young and Williams.

“I proved my point,” Battle joked. “She’s not on the team. I’m still the best player on the team.”

Erdahl played college basketball at St. Olaf College for two years before transferring to American University. So she had some experience on her side heading into the matchup.

Young, Williams and Battle all can get back in the win column on Saturday, though. Alabama is taking on Arkansas Saturday for a chance to win the SEC West. If Alabama can win the division, it’d mark the Crimson Tide’s third appearance in the conference title game in four years.

Saturday’s game is on CBS. And, you guessed it, Erdahl is the sideline reporter.

Nick Saban lights into Alabama players, has strong message to fans

Alabama’s quest for an SEC West title runs through Arkansas on Saturday. Nick Saban said this week that it’s all about staying the course and not expecting to win every game.

Saban, speaking on “Hey Coach and The Nick Saban Show” this week, talked about his message to the players as the Crimson Tide gets ready to take on Arkansas. He called out some “negative vibes” he noticed heading into Saturday’s game.

Saban also talked about getting ready for Arkansas, which he isn’t taking lightly given some of the Razorbacks’ marquee victories.

“Arkansas has got a good team,” Saban said. “I don’t know why anybody would think they don’t have a good team. They’re 7-3, they beat Texas, they beat Texas A&M — who beat us — so I don’t get it. And they lost 52-51 to Ole Miss because they went for two at the end of the game, which I’m not blaming the coach for doing that, and they didn’t make it. … I don’t understand it.”
