With Bryce Young Heisman win, Alabama sets mind-blowing stat

Alabama is the premier program of the college football world. For statistics to back it up, just look at the amount of jewelry Nick Saban has accumulated since joining the Crimson Tide.
More Alabama history was made on Saturday, as Bryce Young became the first Crimson Tide quarterback to win the award. However, there’s a mind-blowing stat that puts everything into perspective regarding the Crimson Tide.
“With Bryce Young and Will Anderson in 2021, Alabama has now had 10 different players receive at least 30 first-place Heisman votes since 2009,” revealed Brad Edwards. “Over that span, only one other program has had more than 2 different players reach that mark (Stanford, 4).”
While star linebacker Will Anderson wasn’t in New York for the Heisman ceremony, it’s evident he was held in high-regard by voters. With Young and Anderson adding to the list of Crimson Tide players who’ve received at least 30 first-place votes since 2009, the idea that Alabama is ahead of the pack is proven to be fact.
Next up for the Crimson Tide is a chance at a national championship. If the past is any indication, Alabama players will have their sole focus on bringing another title to Tuscaloosa.
Young: ‘I just want to give a huge shoutout to the Alabama fanbase’
Bryce Young has been tremendous in his first season as the unquestioned starter for Alabama. After watching Mac Jones shred defenses last season, it was always going to be a tough act to follow. Well, Young didn’t back down — becoming the first Alabama quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy.

The brightest star in the college football world had a bevy of people to thank. After the ceremony, Young had to single out one particular group — sending his love to Tuscaloosa, and all of the Crimson Tide faithful.
“I just want to give a huge shoutout to the Alabama fanbase,” stated Young. “Thank you for constantly supporting and being there for me. A night like this definitely is not possible without you guys. Individually and us as a team, we love and appreciate your guys support. Roll Tide.”
The Alabama fanbase embraced Young, believing in the quarterback wholeheartedly. Instead of believing there wasn’t a quarterback that could match Jones’ performance, Tuscaloosa became enamored with Young. The star quarterback paid off their support big time.
Now, Young will look to put the finishing touches on a legendary season. If he can cap his year with a national championship, it’ll be one of the most successful seasons a quarterback can have in the sport.
