Arkansas INF Gabe Fraser plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Arkansas infielder Gabe Fraser plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Fraser only spent one season with the Razorbacks.
Fraser made 28 appearances this season for the Razorbacks. He posted a .250/.339/.365 slash line and 12 RBI. In the field, Fraser tallied 14 putouts while only committing two errors.
Gabe Fraser played high school baseball at Orange Lutheran High School (CA), where he was the No. 19 overall player and No. 3 shortstop from California in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to Perfect Game. He was a 2024 Perfect Game Preseason All-American and a member of the California All-Region First Team.
Fraser made headlines this past week when he signed autographs and gave away memorabilia to young fans despite Arkansas suffering a brutal loss to LSU in the College World Series. Now, Fraser will look to provide his positive spirit to a new program.
Although Fraser will likely be wearing a different jersey next season, he won’t forget Arkansas’ season-ending loss to LSU anytime soon. The Razorbacks led the Tigers 5-3 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. However, the pressure was on Arkansas, with two LSU runners on base.
The Razorbacks collapsed in the clutch. Arkansas left fielder Charles Davalan misjudged a line drive and failed to make the game-winning catch, allowing LSU to score two runs and tie the game.

On the next at-bat, LSU’s Jared Jones hit a laser toward center field. The ball bounced off the top of Arkansas’ Cam Kozeal‘s glove, and LSU ultimately escaped with the win. After the game, Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn reflected on the team’s season.
“It’s hard to say goodbye,” Van Horn said. “I’m not good at saying goodbyes anyway. Great team, fun team, hard-working team. And probably just ‘team.’ Man, they were a team. You could tell by how emotional they were after the game.
“It was a lot of heartbreak, maybe because we lost the game, but honestly, probably because the season’s over and they don’t get to be around each other every day. So proud of them. Proud of the University of Arkansas.”
Arkansas finished its season with a 50-15 overall record and a 20-10 mark in conference play. Fans can rest assured that Van Horn and Co. will come back hungry for redemption next season following the Razorbacks’ heartbreaking end to the 2025 campaign.
