Arkansas selling goalpost pieces after upset win over Tennessee

Arkansas stunned then-No. 4 Tennessee last week by overcoming an 11-point third quarter deficit and pulling off a 19-14 win in Fayetteville. The comeback victory marked the Razorbacks’ first home win over a top-five opponent since 1999. That season, they also took down a highly-touted Volunteers squad, at the time ranked No. 3.
Now Arkansas is selling a section of the goalpost from this past weekend’s game, as well as 15 autographed goalpost pieces, which have signatures from head coach Sam Pittman, defensive coordinator Travis Williams and offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino.
All proceeds are going to Arkansas Edge, the university’s official NIL collective.
It’s a way to memorialize one of the great upset wins in Arkansas football history, one that was delivered in heroic fashion by backup quarterback Malachi Singleton.
Singleton, a redshirt freshman, replaced starter Taylen Green after the Boise State transfer exited the game with a lower-body injury. Eventually, Singleton — who had played just 21 offensive snaps, per Pro Football Focus, and attempted just 11 passes in his young career — orchestrated a game-winning drive.

He capped it off with an 11-yard rushing score with 1:17 remaining.
Singleton attempted only three passes on the night but completed two of them for 31 yards. Arkansas had other offensive players step up throughout the contest, too, like running backs Braylen Russell (eight carries, 62 yards) and Ja’Quinden Jackson (20 carries, 57 yards, one touchdown). Plus, wideout Andrew Armstrong put on a show with 132 receiving yards on nine catches.
And Green played an admirable three-plus quarters, completing 19-of-27 passes for 266 yards. His Razorbacks are 4-2, including 2-1 in SEC play. Their losses have both come in one-score games, a 39-31 overtime defeat to then-No. 16 Oklahoma State and a 21-17 setback to now-No. 15 Texas A&M.
But, last Saturday, Arkansas played its part in a crazy day of college football. Five top-11 teams lost this past weekend, including two in the top five.
Arkansas took down then-No. 4 Tennessee, and Vanderbilt knocked off then-No. 1 Alabama.
Both Arkansas and Vandy are now selling pieces of their goalposts to commemorate the night.
