Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks have hit the transfer portal hard this offseason, looking to continue their upward trend as a program. One of the biggest names acquired was former On3 Consensus five-star prospect Jadon Haselwood, coming from Oklahoma after head coach Lincoln Riley left for USC.

Haselwood took to Twitter on Monday night, calling out some of the Oklahoma fans that the wide receiver says have called him “soft.” He cited joining what is widely considered one of the toughest divisions in all of sports, the SEC West, as proof against the theory.

“Never understood how the OU fans call me soft when I literally joined the hardest conference in football and the toughest side tbh #SEC sorry not sorry,” Haselwood said.

As Haselwood points out in his tweet, it won’t be easy facing SEC teams on a weekly basis. The tests will begin early for Arkansas, with former Sooners teammate and quarterback Spencer Rattler coming to town with the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week Two. Usual suspects in the SEC West will provide a challenge too with Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss all traveling to Fayetteville this year.

Even in the non-conference schedule, the Razorbacks have three quality opponents on the schedule in BYU, Cincinnati, and Liberty. Haselwood will have the opportunity to go up against some of the best players in the country throughout the season.

Haselwood spent three seasons in Norman and featured in the offense on a weekly basis. He led the Sooners in receptions (39) and touchdowns (six) but was only able to gain 399 yards. The talent is evident and he will be looking to fully breakout at Arkansas, beginning next season.

Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendall Briles and quarterback KJ Jefferson have a 1,104 and 14 touchdown gap to fill with Treylon Burks off to the 2022 NFL Draft. Haselwood has been brought in to be that star receiver to propel the Razorbacks’ offense to a new level.

Coming out of the portal, Haselwood was the No. 37 prospect of the cycle according to On3’s transfer portal rankings. He was the No. 7 wide receiver and only one of two players at the position ranked in the top ten to transfer into an SEC program.

Haselwood was a five-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting services. He ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit, topping the wide receiver and Georgia rankings in the 2019 class.
