Bobby Petrino rips officials in fiery halftime interview vs. LSU

Arkansas led LSU 14-0 during the first quarter on Saturday, but entered halftime trailing 16-14. During the 16-0 run, the Razorbacks believed the officials missed a couple of calls that favored the Tigers.
In turn, Bobby Petrino was seen tearing into the officials on the sideline during the final moments of the second quarter. Those emotions appeared to have boiled over into his halftime with Alyssa Lang right before heading into the tunnel for the break.
“I feel bad for our players,” Petrino told Lang, cutting off her question. “We come down here and have a chance to score a touchdown. They don’t make the call. … We’re going to go fight, alright. We’re gonna have to play everybody.”
Petrino will hope to instill that same fire into his guys into the locker room at halftime after being held scoreless in the second quarter. Despite this, both teams basically mirrored each other during the first half.
LSU finished the first two quarters out-gaining Arkansas 180-179 yards. Both teams have 120 passing yards and LSU leads in the rushing department with 60 yards compared to 59 for the Razorbacks.
Arkansas is currently the only team left in the conference without a win against an SEC opponent. They entered Week 12 with an 0-5 record. Four of those matchups came by one score, including losses to Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Mississippi State.

Neither of these teams are having the season their fanbases had hoped for, and that can be see in the fact that both programs have fired their head coaches. Both Sam Pittman and Brian Kelly were dismissed from their programs after falling short of expectations during the 2025 season.
This matchup makes up half of the total number of coaches fired in the SEC this season. 25 percent (4-16) coaches in the conference have been fired this season.
LSU is currently 5-4 overall and need to win one more game to secure their status as a bowl eligible team. They play Western Kentucky at home next week, but it would feel good for Tigers fans to know their team is already postseason-bound.
Regardless, when Arkansas comes out in the second half, they’ll hope play with the same attitude their head coach showed during the halftime interview. Fans can watch what will potentially be a close finish live on the SEC Network.
