The decision is in for former Arkansas guard Chance Moore after entering the transfer portal.

Moore took to Twitter to announce he’s committing to Missouri State. The former Razorbacks guard only played in five games this past season and entered the portal March 29.

Moore arrived in Fayetteville as a four-star recruit and a top-100 recruit from the Class of 2021, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He garnered plenty of high-major interest and held offers from Auburn, Florida and Alabama, among others. After just one year with the Razorbacks in the SEC, he’s heading to the Missouri Valley.

Arkansas had a great year in 2021-22, going 28-9 overall and 13-5 in SEC play. The Razorbacks also rattled off a run to the Elite Eight, where they fell to Duke.

Despite losing Moore, the future looks bright for Eric Musselman and Co., though. Arkansas has the No. 3 recruiting class in the country this year, according to the On3 Consensus Team Rankings, featuring four top-100 players. Five-stars Nick Smith and Jordan Walsh and four-star Derrian Ford are all signed, and five-star Anthony Black committed March 28.

Musselman has also done work in the transfer portal, landing former Missouri forward Trevon Brazile and Rhode Island transfers Makhi and Makhel Mitchell. More recently, he got a commitment from former Arizona State forward Jalen Graham, which only adds to his impressive recruiting class this offseason. That’s helping offset the losses of Moore, Connor Vanover and KK Robinson, who all transferred out of the Arkansas program.

Arkansas forward Connor Vanover announces intent to transfer

After a second consecutive trip to the Elite Eight, the Arkansas Razorbacks are going through their annual roster revamp. On Wednesday, a third Razorback player announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Forward Connor Vanover, a former contributor at Cal, announced that he’s looking for a new home for the second time in his collegiate career.

“Growing up in Arkansas it was always a dream to play in a Razorback uniform and I will never forget the amazing memories we made these last few years,” Vanover shared in a post on Instagram.

Vanover, at 7-foot-3, 230 pounds, is one of the tallest collegiate basketball players on the market. He contributed 7.5 minutes per game for the Hogs this season, which was a career-low. He posted 3.9 points per game, along with 2.9 rebounds, in 15 games played. Vanover also made 10 starts this season. In 2020-21, the Arkansas native started 27 of 29 games but contributed 16.7 minutes per game with 6.3 points per game.
