For the eighth consecutive season, Dave Van Horn’s Arkansas Razorbacks are headed to the NCAA Tournament. For the third consecutive season, they’ll be hosting a Regional in Fayetteville.

This season, the field consists of No. 1 seed Arkansas, No. 2 seed Kansas, No. 3 seed Creighton and No. 4 seed North Dakota State. The Razorbacks are looking to break a two-year skid in which they’ve lost in back-to-back Regionals for the first time since 2013-14.

“I would say its kinda just what they show all the time,” Van Horn said when asked about his team’s demeanor. “Calmly excited and ready to play somebody and get this thing going.”

Arkansas finished the regular season with a 43-13 (20-10) record, good enough to secure the No. 2 seed in the 2025 SEC Tournament (lost to Ole Miss in Quarterfinals). The Razorbacks won six of their 10 SEC series this season and will head to the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 5 in D1Baseball’s latest Top 25 Rankings.

“They’ve already rested up a bit,” Van Horn said about his team. “They rested up on Saturday. We had a light workout [Sunday]. [Monday] they’re pretty much on their own. That’s why we worked out [Sunday], so we could take [Monday] a little big lightly, as far as teamwork. That way we could look over our opponents and get as familiar with them as we can.”

Kansas heads into the Fayetteville Regional (first NCAA Tournament appearance in 11 years) with a 43-15 (20-10) record. Three seeded Big East Champions Creighton (first NCAA Tournament appearance in six years) rolls into Fayetteville at 41-14 (17-4) and four seed North Dakota State (first NCAA Tournament appearance in four years) sneaks in at 20-32 (13-15).

The Bison were the fourth and final seed in the Summit League Tournament, but outlasted No. 1 seed Oral Roberts, No. 2 seed St. Thomas and No. 3 seed Omaha en route to the upset win. They however will not be an easy out, as Arkansas fans have come to find out.

Last season, the Razorbacks’ season came to an end at the hands of No. 4 seeded Southeast Missouri State in the Fayetteville Regional. Van Horn’s team took down the Redhawks in the opening game of the Regional, but fell 6-3 in their second matchup.

Arkansas looks to get back to the College World Series this season for the first time since 2022. If it fails to do so, it’s three-year drought (2023-25) would be its longest since its four-year drought from 2005-2008.
