Dave Van Horn raves about Arkansas home field advantage ahead of NCAA Baseball Tournament
Arkansas is ready for the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament and Dave Van Horn couldn’t be happier to have a home field advantage as a host site. The Razorbacks are the No. 3 overall seed in the Field of 64.
In its eighth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, Arkansas is ready to take the world by storm again. Van Horn knows his team has a distinct advantage at home, so it should help to make a deep run.
This year, the Razorbacks went 43-13 overall and were second in the SEC. Throw everything out though as the final part of the postseason is here. Van Horn and crew are able to start out at home.
“When it’s a big game, our facility, with our fan base, and all that goes on outside the stadium, the long lines to get in the hog pen, you know, starts nights or sometimes with camping out, I just have to say it’s electric, and you have to feel it,” Van Horn said on ESPN2 on The Road to Omaha. “It started in 2004 and we got to the Super Regional, like it feels a little different. And then 2009, you know, just, man, it’s something else. And on game day, SEC games, you know, when we have good weather, it’s busting at the seams.

“When the weather is just okay, it’s still packed. And over the years, I’ve really watched, and I can feel the difference in the way our fans are as far as you know, they’re educated now. They know when to make noise, and I don’t know, disrupt things a little bit, so to speak. But it’s an electric environment, and it’s so fun to play in. If I was a player I would love to be a part of it.”
Want to know how good the Razorbacks were at home? Van Horn wasn’t kidding. Out of the 43 wins this season, Arkansas won 32 games at home, only losing four in front of the rabid fan base.
Arkansas and Van Horn will play host to Kansas, Creighton and North Dakota State in Fayetteville. The winner of the regional will play the winner of the Knoxville Regional. Those teams include Tennessee, Wake Forest, Cincinnati and Miami (OH).The tournament begins on Friday. Arkansas will play North Dakota State at 3:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+ that day to kick off the regional.
