Former Oklahoma pitcher Jackson Kircher commits to Arkansas

Former Oklahoma pitcher Jackson Kircher has committed to Arkansas, he announced via X on Saturday. Kircher spent just one season in Norman with the Sooners but decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal to find a new home. Now, he lands with Arkansas, a program fresh off an appearance at the College World Series.
“Blessed to announce that I will be staying home!! Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point,” Kircher said via X.
Shortly after the announcement was made, Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball added some insight on the addition for Arkansas. Head coach Dave Van Horn is getting somebody with a lot of potential after not getting on the mound too often for Oklahoma.
“NEW COMMIT: @RazorbackBSB lands a commitment from former Oklahoma RHP Jackson Kircher,” Rogers said via X. “Kircher had limited action in 2025, but has a big-time arm.”
This season saw Kircher appear in 11 games for a total of 9.2 innings. He was used out of the bullpen for Oklahoma, sporting an ERA of 4.66. Five earned runs are on the resume but three others crossed the plate as well. Kircher struck out 12 batters and did an okay job making sure not too many walks were issued, only having four.

“I put him in a bad sport,” Oklahoma head coach Skip Johnson said after Kircher had a nice appearance against Louisiana Tech. “I thought the right matchup was there. He went in and threw strikes and that’s the biggest thing. In a bases-loaded, one-out environment, it’s hard to pitch out of that environment. Just throw the ball in the mit. He stuck with the plan and doing great. Really proud of him for that moment.”
Interestingly, the official Oklahoma website labeled Kircher as an outfielder as well. However, he never stepped into the batter’s box. More likely than not, he is a full-time pitcher despite having some offensive success during his high school playing days.
Kircher is heading back to his home state, as mentioned in his original tweet. According to Perfect Game, he was the No. 4 prospect in Arkansas coming out of Little Rock Christian Academy. The Razorbacks were not able to get him to Fayetteville during his high school recruitment but got another shot. Van Horn made sure to take full advantage this go-round, getting a good player out of the NCAA transfer portal.
