Milwaukee Brewers select Arkansas second baseman Robert Moore in 2022 MLB Draft

The Arkansas Razorbacks had three players selected on day one of the 2022 MLB Draft, with Robert Moore going to the Milwaukee Brewers. Moore played second base for the Razorbacks with teammate Jalen Battles at shortstop, but the Brewers will give Moore a chance to play at shortstop as he comes up through their farm system.
Robert Moore selected by the Milwaukee Brewers
Moore, affectionately nicknamed Big Game Bob by Arkansas fans, was the third Arkansas player selected in the second round of the MLB draft on Sunday, following third baseman Cayden Wallace and pitcher Peyton Pallette. The Brewers selected Moore with the 72nd overall pick — a significant jump from his pre-draft prospect rankings according to the MLB Draft Tracker.
Coming into the draft Moore was listed as the No. 108 prospect available, but the amount of position players selected in the first two rounds thinned out the pool quickly and gave way for his rise up the board.
Moore finished his third year at Arkansas with a below-average hitting performance by his standards, but his fielding ability and physical talents kept him a top MLB prospect. Moore’s career batting average in college stands at .264, with 26 home runs and 114 RBIs.

The O’Dowd Evaluation ratings used by MLB draft analysts listed his fielding ability as a 60 rating on the 80-grade scale, with his arm strength and running ability as 55 each. With his selection, the only remaining top-200 prospect from Arkansas still on the draft board is shortstop Jalen Battles, who will most likely be the fourth draft pick out of Arkansas this year.
Although no Razorbacks heard their names called in the first round of the draft this year, the talent on their roster from last season was evident as they were one of only a handful of schools that produced three picks in the first day of the draft.
