SEC levies $100,000 fine on Arkansas basketball for court storming vs. Duke
Arkansas has been fined for storming the court after a win over No. 7 Duke on Wednesday night, the Southeastern Conference announced on Thursday afternoon.
The fine will cost the Razorbacks $100,000 for a first offense of the league’s revised access to competition area policy.
The policy states that “institutions shall limit access to competition areas to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and properly credentialed or authorized individuals at all times. For the safety of participants and spectators alike, at no time before, during or after a contest may spectators enter the competition area.”

The fines escalate over time, with a second offense costing $250,000 and a third and subsequent offenses costing $500,000.
The moment was certainly a big one for the unranked Razorbacks.
The fans were electric from the start, helping get Duke in some early foul trouble and allowing Arkansas to take full advantage with the support of the fans.
Arkansas built as much as a 14-point lead in the contest before holding on down the stretch.
On3 will have more on this developing story shortly.
