Big Cat weekend is bringing plenty of top recruits out to Auburn this weekend, including Hoover (Ala.) Thompson four-star EDGE Jared Smith.

One of the Tigers’ top targets left on the board in the 2025 cycle, Smith will be a major priority for Hugh Freeze and his staff as his Aug. 3 commitment date is right around the corner.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder arrived in style on Saturday, as an Auburn-themed Tesla Cybertruck delivered Smith to the weekend festivities:

The Tigers are now trending heavily for Smith, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The blue-chipper previously named six finalists, but eyes have been on Auburn and South Carolina leading into his announcement.

Earlier this month, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons was the first to log a pick in the On3 RPM in favor of Freeze and Co. picking up the in-state commitment.

“Coming out of the visits and looking ahead to his commitment, Auburn has picked up some momentum,” Simmons wrote. “Auburn has made a big push for Smith. His recruitment is far from over, but the Tigers are surging late with a commitment less than a month away.”

Smith is the No. 42 overall prospect and No. 4 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Alabama.

Big Cat already bringing commitments for Auburn

One of the nation’s premier summer recruiting events, Big Cat weekend always tends to deliver — and that’s already been the case for the Tigers on Saturday.

While no additions have come just yet for the 2025 class, Auburn has landed a pair of blue-chip pledges in the 2026 class. Huntsville (Ala.) Jemison four-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris is the nation’s No. 19 overall prospect, while Mobile (Ala.) Cottage Hill Christian four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle checks in at No. 64 overall.
