Estranged wife of former Auburn football player arrested for murder-for-hire plot

Former Auburn long snapper Robert Shiver’s wife was arrested this week after Bahamian police discovered an alleged murder plot.
According to Bahamas Court News, “Prosecutors say Lindsay Shiver, 36, her alleged lover Terrance Bethel, 28, and 29-year-old Faron Newbold conspired to kill her estranged husband Robert Shiver.”
Police officers allegedly discovered the insidious plot while investigating a break-in at an unrelated bar. However, when inspecting the phone of a suspect in the break-in, officers uncovered Whatsapp messages discussing the murder plan. The police did not immediately know if the phone belonged to Shiver, Bethel or Newbold.
Per the Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Robert and Lindsay Shiver own a house in the Bahamas, near where she met her alleged lover Bethel. The accused are yet to be indicted.
“The accused were not required to enter a plea to the charge when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Friday. They return to Court on October 5,” Bahamas Court News’ Lisa Brown wrote.
Lindsay Shiver, whose maiden name was Shirley, also attended Auburn University. According to an Instagram post from Lindsay, the pair met during a fitness class at Auburn.
