Keyshawn Hall injury update: Auburn forward exits with leg injury against Houston

Keyshawn Hall was again the leading scorer for No. 22 Auburn in their Top-25 neutral-site matchup this afternoon against No. 1 Houston in Birmingham. However, the Tigers had to finish their comeback attempt without him.
Hall exited the game with just minutes left with an undisclosed leg injury, as he went back into the locker room for evaluation and later came back out to the bench. But, he was noticeably limping in walking there, back, and along their bench as he was moving around several times with the help of staff and personnel. He then eventually did not return to the game, with Auburn going on to take a 73-72 loss to Houston this afternoon at Legacy Arena.
Credit, though, goes to Hall. He, after going down heading into a timeout, got himself back out to the free-throw line, made both attempts, and then checked back out off the court, with that avoiding the chance for their opponent to pick his replacement at the charity stripe if he hadn’t done so.
With those two makes from the line, Hall finished with a double-double of 20 points (6-16 FG) and 11 rebounds to go with an assist and a steal in 29 minutes against the Cougars. The free throws also ensured that he has scored 20 points or more in each of his four games so far as a Tiger, as he’s now averaging 23.3 points (54% FG, 62.5% 3PT on 1.5 makes), 11.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game so far to start his career at Auburn.

During the postgame press conference, no update was yet given on the status of Hall by Steven Pearl. That said, Pearl gave his team a lot of props for hanging in there after their leader in scoring, rebounding, and blocks exited.
“Yeah, I mean, he – I don’t know, what was it. We were down six, I think, when he went out. Made two free throws. So, I mean, you know, I thought our guys did a really good job of picking him up and, you know, playing well without him. You know, played the last four or five minutes without him, and, you know, had an opportunity at the end of the game to win…So, that’s a credit to our guys. You know, it’s just next man up mentality,” said Pearl. “He’s obviously a guy that, late in the game, you know, would be another good option that, you know, would get downhill and, you know, draw contact and, you know, potentially get to the foul line, so. But, I thought our guys did a phenomenal job of stepping up and responding, you know, when he went down.”
More should be known about Hall moving forward in the coming days, with only one game this week being against Jackson State on Wednesday before they head to Las Vegas the following one to play twice in the Player Era Festival on November 24th and 25th. It’ll hopefully not be too long-term, though, with him already missing a notable stretch of time just this afternoon.
