Keystone Allison signs with Baylor from the NCAA Transfer Portal

Baylor is a few hours away from opening this season when it kicks off later tonight from Waco. However, this morning, the Bears made a transfer addition.
Keystone Allison has committed to Baylor from the NCAA Transfer Portal. That news comes per On3’s Pete Nakos this afternoon, with a note that Allison could also end up playing baseball for the Bears.
Allison entered the portal this summer on the final day of July. Now, with this commitment, it’s a question of when he’ll be available to actually take the field for the Bears. That said, with their season opening tonight, the expectation is that Allison will be an addition for next year’s portal class who’ll compete for them in 2026.
Allison spent the past two seasons at Louisiana Tech under Sonny Cumbie. He didn’t make any appearances with the Bulldogs as he redshirted as a freshman before not playing last fall.
Allison is a native of Carthage, Texas, which is three hours northeast of Waco. He played his high school football there, where he won a state title in his senior season at Carthage before heading to Ruston, Louisiana, as a member of the 2023 recruiting class.
This is about as late as an offseason addition can get with Baylor kicking off its season in a couple of hours tonight with an important matchup against Auburn at McLane Stadium. Still, it’s a commitment nonetheless as Allison returns to his home state to possibly play both on the field and the diamond for the Bears.

Baylor Bears Football: Phil Steele 2025 Forecast
Phil Steele has provided his forecast for the Baylor Bears ahead of this season. Since their 12-2 season in 2021, the Bears are 17-21 over the past three seasons. To say this season, which brings high expectations for the program, is supremely important for Dave Aranda now would be an understatement.

Baylor Offense
This season, Baylor returns QB Sawyer Robertson, RB Bryson Washington, and WRs Josh Cameron and Ashtyn Hawkins. That sets up what should be an exciting offense that can definitely contend for the Big 12.
“This year they have a veteran OLine, their top two RB’s, top 2 WR’s and QB Robertson all back. This should be one of the top offenses in the Big 12 this year!”
Baylor Defense
The Bears’ defense was in the middle of the pack of the conference last season, as it ranked eleventh in the conference in both yards per game and points per game allowed. If they want to reach their possible heights, however, they’ll have to improve drastically on this front.
“This year, including transfers, he has eight starters back to work with and the front seven should be one of the best he has fielded with strengths at NT, rush end and linebacker. I look for continued improvement and it should be one of the Big 12’s best.”
Baylor 2025 Forecast
“This year, 18 starters return, including QB Robertson. This time they have five Big 12 home games and a schedule that will have them favored in almost every game,” Steele wrote. “Coach Aranda feels they have a shot at repeating their 2021 success and Baylor is a legitimate Big 12 contender and a playoff contender as well.”
