According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, the Boston College Eagles have “targeted” Blake James to become their athletic director. This will be the third school at which James has been an athletic director, formerly being in the ACC with Miami and in the northeast with Maine.

“Boston College has targeted former Miami athletic director Blake James to be the school’s next athletic director,” Thamel said. “An announcement is expected in the upcoming days.”

Matt Fortuna of The Athletic shed some more light on the situation, laying out who James was able to beat out for the role. He said Army AD Mike Buddie, La Salle AD Brian Baptiste, and Florida executive associate AD Lynda Tealer were considered finalists for the job.

In the end, Boston College will select James to run their program.
