Clemson continues to struggle, drops both games of doubleheader at Pitt

For the first four weeks of the season, Clemson looked like a team ready to make some serious noise in 2022. But after dropping its first game of the year on March 13, the Tigers have not been able to get back on track.
Clemson lost both games of a doubleheader at Pitt on Friday, falling 8-0 in Game 1 and 10-7 in Game 2.
The Tigers have now dropped seven of their past nine games and are 16-7 (1-4) after opening the season 14-0. Pitt entered this weekend 10-10 (1-5) before beating the Tigers in two games on Friday.
Starting pitching was the biggest issue in Clemson’s two losses on Friday as ace Mack Anglin allowed four runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, giving up six hits and walking five batters.
In Game 2, Nick Hoffmann allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings. Four of Clemson’s five relievers also allowed a run the second game of the day.
