Clemson Commit Central: Where future Tigers are playing Sept. 16-18

Most of Clemson’s 2022 class is set to take the field the next few days for another week of high school football.

Arguably the biggest game a future Tiger will be playing in is Oscar Smith versus St. John Bosco. Defensive back pledge Sherrod Covil and his teammates at Oscar Smith are undefeated, but this will be a tough test given the collection of talent on the Braves’ roster.

In this edition of Clemson Commit Central, check out where other future Tigers are playing this week and when they will take the field.

Lone Thursday game this week

Robert Gunn: Pinellas Park is gearing up to play one of their two Thursday games on the year (next one is Oct. 7). They’re coming off a 40-0 home victory over Osceola last week.

The Patriots (3-0) will square off against Seminole (2-1) on the road tonight at 7:00 EST.

Matchups on Friday, Sept. 17

Sherrod Covil: After starting off the season with back-to-back blowout victories, Oscar Smith had a very early bye last week. They’ll have their hands full, however, on Friday.

The Tigers (2-0) will take on St. John Bosco (4-0) tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Adam Randall: Coming off a stellar season opener performance, Randall will be playing on the road this Friday. Last week, he recorded nearly 300 yards from scrimmage and had three receiving touchdowns as well.

Up next, Randall and his Myrtle Beach (1-0) teammates will be playing at Darlington (0-2) tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Jaren Kanak: As his team’s quarterback, Kanak has led the Hays Indians to a 2-0 start on the season. Last game, he put up solid numbers yet again with three touchdowns, including a 79-yard TD run.

Tomorrow, Hays will face off against Liberal (1-1) on the road at 8:00 EST.

Daylen Everette, Jihaad Campbell and Keon Sabb: Clemson’s trio of commits from IMG Academy have been playing nearly flawless football this season. IMG’s defense has only allowed 43 total points in four games thus far.

The Ascenders (4-0) will play host to Jones (2-1) on Friday at 7:00 EST.

Jeadyn Lukus: Lukus is looking to lead his team to back-to-back victories for the first time in 2021. He’s off to a strong individual start this season and has two straight games with an interception.

Tomorrow, Lukus and the Mauldin Mavericks (2-1) will host Carolina Academy (0-2) at 7:30 EST.

Collin Sadler: The reason why Lukus’ team has a loss is because of Collin Sandler’s Greenville Red Raiders. Greenville is off to a hot start as they are undefeated, with one win being a 24-21 victory over Mauldin.

Their next opponent is a home matchup with Northwestern (3-1) tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Blake Miller: On Friday, Miller and his teammates at Strongsville High School are looking to win their fourth straight game. It’ll be a tough task, however, as they’re going up against an undefeated conference foe.

Strongsville (3-1) will host Medina (4-0) tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. EST.

A Saturday game is on tap as well

Toriano Pride: Although his team lost by double digits in a tough road game at St. John Bosco last week, Pride performed well. On3’s Charles Power highlighted Pride this week, saying that he shut down his side of the field and stayed attached to opposing wideouts during the game.

Up next, East St. Louis (2-1) will be back home to take on Belleville East (0-3). This game will be on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. EST.
