WR Cole Turner signs with Clemson, officially joins Tigers program

CLEMSON — Six years ago, Nolan Turner signed with Clemson as a lightly-recruited prospect out of Alabama who ended up being an All-ACC performer for the Tigers.
Dabo Swinney is hopeful that Nolan Turner’s younger brother — Cole Turner — will have a similar career path.
Cole Turner signed with Clemson on Wednesday, officially joining Swinney’s program.
The receiver received an offer from Clemson on Dec. 31 and committed to the Tigers a couple of weeks later on Jan. 16 during his official visit.
Turner then made his decision official on Wednesday, sending in his letter of intent.

Clemson is a school that Turner knows very well, and it’s also his biggest offer. That made the decision to join the Tigers an easy one for the Vestavia Hills (Ala.) star.
He is the third wide receiver in this class, joining Adam Randall and Antonio Williams, who signed with Clemson during the early signing period.

The other two are more likely to get on the field quickly for the Tigers, but Turner has a chance to contribute down the line as well.
Turner is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,270 overall prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 180 receiver and No. 52 senior prospect in Alabama.
After signing 12 recruits during the early signing period, Turner was Clemson’s 13th overall commit and the first player to pledge to the Tigers for the second signing period.
Turner chose Clemson over offers from North Alabama, Samford, Central Arkansas and Huntingdon College. USF and head coach Jeff Scott also showed interest in Turner.
