ESPN broadcast reveals Clemson fans boo Tigers defensive line 'literally right behind them' during Syracuse game

Patience is wearing thin in Death Valley. Clemson fans are beginning to turn on their team as the Tigers are currently being railroaded by Syracuse at home.
After a 1-2 start, Clemson couldn’t afford to come out slow against the Orange, but that’s exactly what happened. The Orange have taken it to the Tigers, and they have a 17-point lead at the moment.
With that in mind, ESPN’s Kris Budden reported that Clemson fans have decided to boo their own team. The Tigers have heard it on social media all week, but now their own crowd is letting them know their feelings.
“You can hear the boos. Right now, they’re more pointed at the officials than the team, but they have been. I was standing right next to the Clemson defensive line bench, and they were hearing it from a group of fans literally right behind them, ridiculing them,” Budden reported.
“All week, Dabo Swinney has tried to tell this team to block out the noise. Social media is one thing, but it’s another when it’s fans just 10 feet away from where you’re sitting.”
Clemson was supposed to return home and get right after struggling against Georgia Tech in Week 3. It was an ugly performance for the Tigers, but they rallied to take a lead at one point against the Yellow Jackets.
Then, the game continued to go back and forth before the Yellow Jackets walked it off with a 55-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. That sealed the upset victory at home and sent the Tigers to 1-2.

In the Week 3 loss, Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik completed 15 of 26 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown, while also adding 62 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. However, he also threw an interception and lost a fumble.
Moreover, the Clemson defense had a rough go, though, particularly stopping quarterback Haynes King. He led the charge with both his arm and his legs to help Georgia Tech pull off the upset.
He completed 20 of 28 passes for 211 yards in the air while leading the Yellow Jackets with 25 carries, 101 yards and a touchdown on the ground. As a group, Georgia Tech ran for 147 yards.
Saturday hasn’t been much better against Syracuse. The one caveat is there’s a whole second half of football left. Perhaps the Tigers can figure it out.
