Trevor Lawrence inks limited card set deal with Topps
CLEMSON — Trevor Lawrence has signed an exclusive deal with Topps.
The former Clemson quarterback and expected No. 1 pick in April’s NFL Draft has partnered with the sports card company to release a special set of 50 cards to be released in April direct to consumers.
The pack will have a twist, however, as Lawrence’s sister-and-law and brother, Brooke and Chase, have designed 20 of the cards. The duo are professional artists and designed their portion of the deck off of insipration from the 1960s and 1970s as well as comic books and graphic novels.
The 30 other cards in the pack will be inspired by past Topps designs.
“I’m excited to be working with Topps on this really unique set,” Lawrence said. “Chase and Brooke are extremely talented artists, and it’s special to collaborate with them on these custom designs.”

The cards won’t have Clemson or NFL logos on them because Topps’ competition Panini holds the exclusive rights to NFL/NFLPA cards, including the player’s image, team name, uniform and logos.
No official launch date has been announced yet, but 20-card packs are expected to run for less than $100.

Lawrence didn’t participate in Clemson’s Pro Day on Thursday; he held his own last month before having surgery on his non-throwing arm. The quarterback is now in California rehabbing from the labrum operation in preparation of April’s NFL Draft.
Lawerence’s deal with Topps is the latest example of the boom on sports cards. The the industry has exploded over the last year. An ESPN story in October detailed the rise of the industry during this COVID-19 pandemic year, stating that card sales have demolished all-time records in the past year.
“We always try to celebrate and chronicle what’s going on in sports and pop culture,” Topps global director of ecommerce Jeff Heckman said to Sportico.com. “This is the first time we’ve done anything like this.”
