On300 EDGE Amontrae Bradford commits to Colorado: 'The atmosphere is different'

Statesboro (Ga.) On300 EDGE Amontrae Bradford came down to Colorado and Texas A&M.
Georgia Tech, Indiana and Vanderbilt hosted him for official visits, but with the Buffaloes and Aggies he felt like he had a chance to win championships. He visited Boulder last month, and not longer after, he knew where he wanted to go.
On Monday morning, Bradford made it official and announces for Deion Sanders and the program in Boulder.
“It came down to Colorado and Texas A&M, and I committed to Colorado and made my decision about two weeks ago. That atmosphere is different. When I was in Boulder for my official visit, it was nothing like I have ever seen. The fans were great and it is the atmosphere I want to play in.”
Bradford excited to play for Coach Prime
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder was in Boulder when the Buffaloes hosted Nebraska. It was the excitement around the program, but it was also how players respond to Sanders and his staff that has him eager to get to Colorado.
“Coach Prime is different,” he said. “He is a great coach and he is a father-like mentor that I have never had. He is one of the best ever. Coach Prime is about to do huge things at Colorado. It is where I want to be, and I am going into a top program. He has shocked people this year, but even more is coming. We will be in the national championship game in the next two years..Coach Prime is building something there and he is a coach that makes me feel safe and at home. I am excited to get to play for him.”

Defensive line coach Nick Williams has led the way in his recruitment as well, and Bradford likes the opportunity to play for him and play early in Boulder.
“He is just a guy that is hard not to like,” he added. “Coach Williams is young, he has great energy and he is a guy I want to play for… I like how he recruited me, I like his personality and he is easy for me to talk to.”
He’ll now turn his attention to recruit his cousin and fellow Statesboro High teammate Kam Mikell, who visited with him in September.
“We have talked a lot about playing football together in college,” said Bradford, “and now I want him at Colorado.”
