Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench was committed to Alabama since July, but backed off his pledge to the Crimson Tide on Sunday night.

Following the departure of wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins and the retirement of head coach Nick Saban, Ffrench opted to reopen his recruitment as one of the top wideouts in the 2025 cycle. Less than an hour after On3’s Hayes Fawcett broke the news of Ffrench’s decommitment, the five-star announced a new offer.

Colorado and Deion Sanders are one of the many teams that will look to make a run for the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the On3 Industry Ranking. The new staff in Boulder offered Ffrench on Sunday, joining a laundry list of elite programs that are hopeful to be in the mix in his recruitment down the stretch.

Last week, Ffrench spoke with On3’s Sam Spiegelman regarding his recruitment. He mentioned Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State as programs that have continued to chip away for his pledge.

“There’s a lot of eyes coming back around and doing a double-check,” Ffrench said. “There’s a lot of schools making their rounds back around.”

With Ffrench officially uncommitted once again, programs will continue to ramp up their respective pursuits. Sanders and the Buffaloes will now look to make an impression on the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder, though the competition will be quite steep.

Colorado is currently without a commitment in the 2025 class. The Buffs signed just eight 2024 prospects during the December Early Signing Period, though three are top-100 recruits — including Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.

Jaime Ffrench Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about Ffrench as a prospect:

“Savvy receiver with advanced route-running skills. Measured at around 6-foot-1, 185 pounds in the off-season prior to his junior year. Tests as a solid athlete in the combine setting. Shows elite change of direction and start-stop ability on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Easily changes gears within his routes. Capable of stacking corners off the line and shows shake at the top of his routes. Flashed coordination and the ball skills to make fantastic one-handed grabs at camps. Shifty after the catch. A competitive prospect who showed up to seemingly every event in the off-season. Can clean up concentration drops as he can lose focus at times. Projects as one of the top receivers in the 2025 cycle in large part due to his well rounded, technical skill set.”

Ffrench has an On3 NIL Valuation of $207K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
