Colorado offensive lineman Zechariah Owens has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. Owens is a former four-star recruit.

Owens spent one season playing under head coach Deion Sanders in Boulder. He transferred into the program from Clemson after spending one season there as well.

Owens decommitted from Clemson at one point as a recruit, before rejoining the class of 2023 for Dabo Swinney’s Tigers. The 375-pound offensive tackle appeared in two games during the 2023 season while redshirting. He played 13 offensive snaps on the year.

In Boulder, Owens appeared in 10 games for the Buffaloes, primarily serving along the line on special teams. He was a member of the field goal and PAT team, a formation in which he appeared 51 times. He went on to see the field for 11 total offensive snaps.

Now, he’s set to enter the transfer portal for a second time in two years and will now seek his third college program. He was recruited by the likes of South Carolina, Florida State and Georgia, among others.

He was rated as a four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Owens was the No. 277 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class, as well as the 20th-ranked offensive tackle in his cycle.

Auburn safety transfer Terrance Love commits to Colorado

Auburn safety transfer Terrance Love has committed to Colorado out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Love played in 22 games for the Tigers over the past two seasons. He compiled eight tackles and a pass breakup on defense. While those numbers and that level of production might not jump off the page, Love’s high school film will likely entice at least a few lookers in the transfer portal. He was a high-caliber recruit two years ago.

After the team’s annual spring game, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders spoke on what some of the Buffaloes’ needs in the portal may be. It appears that Coach Prime has addressed at least one of the remaining holes.
