Deion Sanders’ ‘Black/White’ Diamond Turf ’93 cleats will be released on May 29, Coach Prime revealed on social media Sunday. They will carry a retail price of $220.

Sanders began releasing his line of cleats/sneakers under the ‘Diamond Turf’ line since 1993, beginning with the Air Diamond Turf and concluding in 1998 with the Air Diamond Turf V. Sanders wore these throughout his playing career.

The original sneaker’s colorway consisted of red, white and black as it closely matched the colors of the San Francisco 49ers — the team Sanders was playing for at the time. They released shortly after his tenure with the Atlanta Falcons, which the colorway resembles more accurately.

Amid tensions throughout their long-standing relationship, Sanders’ line of shoes started being retroed beginning in 2005 and numerous re-releases of his classic shoes have hit the market since. The two brands were at odds for years, however, with Sanders citing financial issues and Nike’s handling of his sneakers being the main culprit.

However, Nike welcomed Sanders back in 2023 and has been releasing shoes since 2024 with the Air DT Max ’96 Black Varsity Maize. He followed that up with the release of the new Air Diamond Turf in January, which was a street-style sneaker. Now, he’s coming out with a pair of cleats just in time for summer workouts on the football field.

Despite the up and down relationship between Coach Prime and Nike, Sanders’ influence in the sneaker world is still prominent after 30 years of releasing shoes. He provided athletes and everyday sneakerheads some of the most eye-catching shoes that the 1990s had to offer, and is looking to do the same with this generation’s young athletes.

The May 29 release of the new ‘Black/White’ Diamond Turf ’93s will feature Sanders’ classic velcro strap with a prominent Nike swoosh across the forefoot. The word ‘Prime’ appears on the tongue of the cleat. This pattern is present in many of Sanders’ line of footwear, though the logo on the tongue varies by design.

With Colorado‘s football season coming up — the design matches the Buffaloes’ classic black and gold uniform colors. It wouldn’t be surprising to see these on the feet of some, if not all of his players this fall.

Colorado will kick off its 2025 season against Georgia Tech inside Folsom Field on Aug. 29. The Buffaloes are early 3.5-point underdogs in that matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
