Deion Sanders calls out claims of son Shedeur's NFL Draft demands

As Shedeur Sanders prepares for the 2025 NFL Draft, there have been some claims around social media about apparent demands. His father, Deion Sanders, called out those posts and shot them down.
Sanders quoted a post on X that said Shedeur Sanders would refuse to play for the New York Giants or Cleveland Browns if they select him in the draft. It also said the Colorado star is “prepared” to be drafted by either the Las Vegas Raiders or Dallas Cowboys.
Deion Sanders said the claims weren’t true. He called out the account and the post itself as Colorado gets ready for the Alamo Bowl against BYU.
“A Lie don’t care who tells it,” Sanders wrote. “Please stop trying to become relevant by misrepresenting my son. God bless you.”

In his two years at Colorado after transferring from Jackson State, Shedeur Sanders has completed 71.8% of his passes, and that number was 74.2% this season to lead the FBS. He also set new career-highs with 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns to help lead Colorado’s turnaround to a 9-3 record.
As a result, Sanders is one of the top prospects in this year’s draft and could go No. 1 overall. But rumors and unfounded claims continued to swirl about what could happen on draft night. One report said Coach Prime had a list of six teams he would “allow” to draft Shedeur or Travis Hunter. He shot that down, as well, calling it a “stupid lie.”
“Who said that, and did you see me say that? … One thing about a lie, a lie is so fast, it can outrun the truth any day,” Sanders said. “That’s a bold-faced lie. That’s a stupid lie. I have more than six owners that are friends, I have more than six GMs that are friends. You’ve got to understand, I played 14 and I worked another 17, I believe, at the NFL Network and CBS. I know a lot of people. Come on. I would never do that. If I was that stupid, I wouldn’t disclose the teams I would want them to play for – I would disclose the several that I wouldn’t. Yeah, that’s stupid. That’s stupidity. I would never do that.”
