Off to a 3-1 start under Deion Sanders, the Colorado football program has been the talk of the sport for the first few weeks of the season. The Buffaloes face another massive test this weekend when top-10 USC comes to Boulder, and they’ll be playing in front of a laundry list of celebrities and a few top recruits.

While five-star St. Louis (Mo.) wide receiver Ryan Wingo ultimately canceled his official visit for the weekend, five-star Texas A&M wide receiver commit Cam Coleman is expected to take an unofficial visit to Boulder this weekend, according to AuburnLive.com’s Jeffrey Lee.

Elite 2025 running back Jordon Davison is also expected in town for an unofficial as the Buffs battle Texas, USC and a number of others.

Potentially the most intriguing visitor though is four-star Michigan State wide receiver commit Nick Marsh. He pledged to Michigan State back in early July, but with the firing of head coach Mel Tucker and the uncertainty around the Spartans’ program, Colorado extended an offer earlier this month and will get him on campus for the first time this weekend.

Colorado has been in pursuit of Coleman for months

Coleman pulled off a bit of a shocker in July when he committed to the Aggies after being considered a lean to the in-state Tigers. But now, as things have heated up, Auburn looks to have even more competition on its hands.

“Colorado came in and offered me last year during basketball,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons last week. “They have kept in contact, they have been talking to me and they have shown me something this season. Before the season, the coaches were telling me they had something special coming and they have shown that. I want to get out there, see what it is like and I will take an official visit out there. Coach Prime is doing something big.”

Along with Colorado, a handful of other schools are in contention for official visits later this season, including Florida and Penn State. The Tigers are still expected to host Coleman down the line, and they’re pursuing him as hard as any program.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder is the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 3 wide receiver and the top recruit in Alabama.

Big names flocking to Boulder

Colorado ranks No. 61 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but has been making plenty of noise lately with visits from elite prospects around the country.

Five-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, Birmingham (Ala.) four-star Alabama defensive line commit Jeremiah Beaman, Chattanooga (Tenn.) Bradley Central four-star Tennessee commit Boo Carter and Belleville (Mich.) 2025 Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood were just some of the big names to visit Boulder recently.

Beaman’s trip to Boulder went so well, that he is now planning an official visit with Colorado later this year.
