Deion Sanders is set to hold his opening press conference on Monday with his medical team in attendance, the program announced. That’s the day Colorado is set to start training camp.

Sanders will meet with reporters Monday at 1 p.m. ET, according to the announcement. It will mark Coach Prime’s first press conference of the 2025 season. Additionally, CU said representatives from CU Anschutz | UCHealth would also be available.

Sanders missed several pre-planned events and camps in Boulder due to an undisclosed health issue. He was back in Texas as he went through his recovery, though he didn’t get into specifics during his first media availability at Big 12 Media Days earlier this month.

While speaking with ESPN in Frisco, Sanders made it clear he’s still handling responsibilities with the season quickly approaching. He also said he looks forward to meeting some players he hasn’t yet spoken with this offseason.

“I’m already back,” Sanders told ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “I’m here today. I’m handling my responsibilities. So I look forward to it. I can’t wait. You’ve got to understand, some of the young men I haven’t even met yet.”

However, Sanders recently said he’s still recovering from his ailment during an appearance on a video posted by his son, Deion Sanders Jr., on Well Off Media. Coach Prime was seen getting into a cold tub when he mentioned he was still working through his health issue.

“You know I’m still going through something,” Sanders said in the video, posted earlier this week. “I ain’t all the way recovered.”

Friday morning, Sanders posted on social media indicating he was back in Boulder. He shared a simple message: “Back and Feeling Great!”

Sanders is getting ready for his third season at Colorado after leading the Buffs’ impressive turnaround in 2024. The program went 8-5 one year after a 4-8 record, making it to the Alamo Bowl. However, star players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are off to the NFL, meaning CU will have a new-look roster in 2025.

Coach Prime pointed out the impact of losing its quarterback and Heisman Trophy-winning two-way threat. That said, he thinks the rest of the group has a chance to be even better this season.

“They were great players. We have a better team,” Sanders said during an appearance on ESPN at Big 12 Media Days. “There’s a difference between great players and a great team. We have a better team, but we can never replace those type of players.”
