Deion Sanders health update: Colorado head coach 'ain't all the way recovered'

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is still battling health issues, according to the latest video posted on Well Off Media. The outlet is run by his son Deion Sanders Jr.
In the video, Coach Prime is seen getting into a cold tub with daughter and basketball star Shelomi Sanders for a recovery day. That’s when he opened up, a little bit at least, about his health.
For what it’s worth, Deion Sanders didn’t talk about his health issues at Big 12 Media Days, instead focusing on his team and players. But, it’s clear there’s something still going on as he heads into Year 3 at Colorado.
“You know I’m still going through something,” Sanders said. “I ain’t all the way recovered.”
Sanders has been missing in action over the last few months while recovering from an unspecified health matter at his Texas-based ranch. That absence caused the third-year Colorado head coach miss several pre-planned events, including several camps in Boulder last month.
The 57-year-old Sanders refused to address that absence during his appearance at Big 12 Media Days in Frisco, Texas, including dismissing a question from a reporter from The Athletic.
“The Athletic? Y’all be on that bull junk, so I’m not going to tell you much,” Sanders said Wednesday. “But I’m not here to talk about my health. I’m here to talk about my team.”
When The Athletic reporter followed up by asking what an average day on Sanders’ Texas ranch has been like, the Colorado coach doubled-down on his deflection.

“Everyday I’m looking good. I’m living lovely,” Sanders said. “God has truly blessed me. Not a care in the world, not a want or desire in the world. Thank you, sir. Appreciate you.”
Deion Sanders Jr. addressed his father’s health during a YouTube livestream June 8th from the family’s palatial estate in Canyon, Texas, adding the elder Sanders was in his bedroom recovering.
“He’ll tell y’all soon enough what he going through, what he went through,” Deion Jr. said June 8 on the livestream, according to USA Today. “When we get back in Boulder, I don’t know. I’m waiting until my dad leaves. When he leaves, then I’ll go. Until then, I’m gonna sit here with him.”
This isn’t the first medical situation Sanders has faced in recent years. The elder Deion Sanders missed a 2023 Pac-12 Conference media even in Las Vegas while dealing with recurring blood clots in his legs. Sanders previously had two toes on his left foot amputated and parts of his left calf removed in 2021 after a scary situation involving blood clots in his legs.
