Duke freshman phenom power forward Kyle Filipowski has been carrying the Blue Devils on his back all season long. He’s been playing like the ACC Rookie of the Year this season. The uber-talented freshman is the only freshman in the nation averaging at least 15 points and nine rebounds per game this year. He’s carried Duke all season long, racking up 11 double-doubles thus far in his debut college basketball season. Against Wake Forest, he stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a hard fought 75-73 win.
North Carolina just dropped a 65-64 heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Panthers recently that involved some controversy in the closing seconds, but it ended up being the correct call. North Carolina has a tough matchup coming up soon against the Clemson Tigers–that one will be played on Feb. 11. The Tigers are currently in first place of the ACC standings and while they just recently lost to Boston College, they’re unquestionably one of the most talented teams in the conference.
