Duke has extended an offer to Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity Catholic four-star running back Justice Haynes.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Haynes as the No. 44 overall player in the country, No. 3 running back in the 2023 cycle and No. 4 player from the state of Georgia.

Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Lebbeus Overton, Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek five-star safety Caleb Downs and Warner Robins (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Vic Burley are the lone players ahead of Haynes from Georgia.

Haynes is having a historic high school career for Roswell Blessed Trinity Catholic. He already has over 6,000 rushing yards in his career, one of 24 players in state history to cross that threshold.

Justice Haynes is the son of former Georgia running back Verron Haynes. The elder Haynes talked with On3’s Jeremy Johnson during the football season and was very proud of his son.

“To be completely honest seeing him on a list with only 23 people on it is mine blowing,” Verron Haynes said. “Keep in mind he has another year to grow, get bigger stronger faster but more importantly smarter… What made the realization even more special and memorable is that he is on a list with Herschel Walker… What a huge honor to be in that kind of company and mention with the great Herschel Walker.”

Duke has not commits in its 2023 class but does have 16 signees in its 2022 class, which ranks No. 60 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

Bronx (N.Y.) Cardinal Hayes quarterback Henry Belin is the top recruit in the Blue Devils class. Belin is rated as the No. 650 overall player in the On3 Consensus, but is rated much higher by On3. He is the No. 114 player and N. 9 quarterback in the 2022 On300 ranking.
